Summary of the book
In her moving autobiography, Victoria Tolbert, the former First Lady of Liberia, speaks of the strength of God in every circumstance of her life. She relates the horrific assassination of her husband, President William Tolbert, and the dark and chaotic days that followed the overthrow of the democratically elected government.

The story follows God's hand as she grows from childhood in the interior forests to her place at the President's side, leading the country that once was the jewel of western Africa.
