March sterilization Sunday was a success with 20 dogs and 4 cats fixed! Thank you to the amazing volunteers , the vet team, the dog catchers, & and ! Check out story for a full recap of the day!

The animal protection laws is Sri Lanka has not been changed since 1907 and the fine for animal cruelty right now is 100lkr which is less than 0.5 euros!! There has been a new updated bill waiting to get approved for years and after some very disturbing and heartbreaking cctv footage of a car intentionally running over two puppies while the mom was watching went viral a few days ago there is momentum to put pressure on the government to pass this bill to stop the unpunished animal cruelty in this country. Animal activists like are fighting tirelessly to make this happen so let’s help by signing the petition! You can find a link in our stories and it only takes a minute! 🙏

We are very excited to be doing our next sterilization day together with LANKA YOGA | Retreat Venue] 💙 they have been supporters of us since the start and adopted 2 of our rescue puppies, Karl & Bird who are now living their best life at the beautiful yoga retreat on koggala lake. Just as us, they want to help out the dogs in their area as well as the community and are therefore sponsoring the event! 🙏 the event is happening on the 18th and as for now we have enough volunteers but feel free to reach out if you want to get involved.

New year - new possibilities! But also new struggles.. We want to do more, but we need your help. We are funded solely on donations and everything goes to the dogs. The work we put into Ceylon paws we do on a volunteer basis, but that also mean we don’t have as much time to post on social media, fundraise etc and in all honesty we are struggling to make it work. We had to cancel our last planned event because we didn’t have enough funds and we don’t want to do that again. On the 15th we have our next sterilization day planned and we want to keep doing them every month but without money it’s just not possible. So as much as we hate asking you for money, we have to. Please help us to keep Ceylon Paws going and continue our mission to help the street dogs of Sri Lanka!

Happy international dog day! Seemed suiting to post a photo of the dog that planted the seed for Ceylon Paws, our very first rescue Hula ❤️ There are so many amazing organizations and people doing all they can to help dogs in need in the world so if you have the possibility, today is a great day to show your support and send a donation to one ❤️ if it’s us there are instructions in our highlights on how to donate. We can’t wait to pick back up with our sterilization days soon and will keep you posted!

Do not fear, we are still here 🐾
We know we’ve been quiet and in all honesty it’s because we haven’t been able to do a sterilization event since March. The situation in Sri Lanka right now is absolutely heartbreaking. The economic crisis that the country is facing has led to shortages of pretty much everything including the drugs we need to be able to do our events. But we are not giving up! We are trying our best to ride out this storm and hoping that we will be able to get back on track asap because the dogs need us now more than ever! 🙏❤️🙌
