We organized the International Women’s Day Program 2026 on 28th March 2026 at Puliyankulam Primary School, Vavuniya North. In response to the recent cyclone impacts in Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, and Vavuniya, we brought together women leaders to share their experiences, highlight challenges, and strengthen their collective voice in recovery and decision-making processes.
We created a platform where women leaders actively engaged in dialogue, identified barriers to accessing relief and resources, and explored solutions to enhance their participation in local governance. Through awareness and capacity-building sessions, we strengthened their knowledge on leadership, rights, and community engagement.
This was followed by an engaging Women Leaders’ Dialogue by the Divisional Secretary of Karainagar, Jaffna, which inspired participants to strengthen their leadership roles.
In the afternoon, participants actively celebrated their strength and unity through a vibrant cultural program featuring dance, songs, and poetry.
With the participation of 77 women leaders and 21 organizers and staff, we successfully promoted leadership, empowerment, and meaningful networking.
