At Pudukadu School in Balangoda, daily mid-day meals are making a life-changing difference! ✨ With the hunger crisis worsened by COVID-19, we’ve helped ensure 138 students not only stay nourished but also stay focused in class. Daily extra classes were conducted at 11 sites, benefiting nearly 1,200 students across the Valachchenai coastal community. This project also funded the salaries of two teachers to run extra mathematics and science classes three days per week over one year in Thattumunai. This initiative contributed to a 90% pass rate in term exams. Attendance has improved, smiles are brighter, and exam results are soaring. 💪

Thank you for helping us make education possible and enjoyable for every child!

In 2024, we ran our Steth of Hope project for the second time with the help of our partners at Glia! 53 stethoscopes were shipped to Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, to help their medical students with their clinical studies.

We are delighted to share these recent photos of the students/doctors with their stethoscopes!💙

💥 2 districts, 67 healthcare workers trained, 10,816 women reached

Through the CRADLE rollout (May 2022 – July 2023), we tackled maternal health head-on - tracking outcomes like maternal deaths, eclampsia, and stillbirth rates.

The CRADLE device is a point-of-care vital signs monitor with a simple traffic light system that helps detect early complications in pregnancy - right in the community. Backed by strong evidence (CRADLE-3 showed a 60% reduction in maternal mortality), it’s a low-cost, high-impact solution developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation.

Three years on, 79% of the devices are still working, thanks to basic, low-cost maintenance — keeping care going strong 💪

📊 Full trial results coming in 2025.

We’re thrilled to share incredible progress from our partners at GSIF! 🙌

Over 200 children aged 5–16 are thriving in Child Friendly Safe Spaces, supported by four dedicated community facilitators. From after-school workshops to family visits, these safe spaces are boosting confidence, improving academic success (with 96% of students passing exams 🎉), and helping at-risk children stay engaged in learning.

Together, we’re building brighter futures! 💛

We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Moving Mountains Trust, a charity doing incredible work to support community-led development in Nepal.

Together, we’re launching two meaningful projects in rural Nepal, focused on improving access to healthcare and clean water — essentials that so many still live without.

💉 Bumburi Medical Centre – We’re supporting the salaries of a nurse and nurse’s assistant at a vital rural health centre in the Solukhumbu region, serving over 20,000 people. This means families who previously had to walk for days or make costly journeys to reach medical care can now access qualified healthcare in their own community.

🚿 Kari La Pass Water Project – We’re helping to build a clean water source from the Paiya River to directly supply 50 remote homes in the Jubing district. This will replace a dangerous and exhausting 2.5km climb families currently make just to collect water each day.

These projects are community-driven, sustainable, and designed to create long-term, meaningful change. I’m proud to be part of something that moves beyond short-term aid and invests in real, lasting impact. 🌱

✨ In 2021, we donated 100 3D-printed stethoscopes to the University of Zambia medical school.

🩺 In June 2023, we had the privilege of visiting the students to witness the impact of this project firsthand.

Here’s what we learned:
➡️ These stethoscopes are used weekly in skills labs and mock practical exams, helping students gain critical hands-on experience.
➡️ For the 40-50% of medical students who cannot afford their own, these donated stethoscopes enable them to develop accurate diagnoses and life-saving management plans.
➡️ In settings with limited access to radiological imaging, the clinical assessment skills provided by these stethoscopes are even more essential.

Our visit reaffirmed the ongoing need for initiatives like this and the enduring importance of the stethoscope in effective clinical practice—even as medical technology continues to advance.

We’re proud to support the next generation of healthcare professionals in delivering life-saving care.👏

18 months after our community project in summer 2023, we’re thrilled to share a touching report from the headteacher and the Zambian Ministry of Education.

Thanks to our partnership with the Butterfly Project, we’ve achieved significant improvements:
1️⃣ The pupil-book ratio has drastically improved from 10:1 to 2:1, enabling more effective teaching and learning.
2️⃣ Teenage pregnancies have significantly decreased, from 5-6 cases annually (2019-2022) to just 1 in 2023, thanks to peer education workshops.

We’re thrilled to celebrate this success with the N’gandu community and our partners at the Butterfly Project.
