Ceylon College of Physicians The Ceylon College of Physicians is the oldest and most prestigious college with a membership over 800 physicians scattered throughout the country.

The Ceylon College of Physicians came into being on the 25th of July 1967 in the Consultants lounge of the NHSL (then General Hospital Colombo). The inaugural meeting was held on the 26th of September 1967. The transactions of the Ceylon College of Physicians was our first journal (in 1967), later re-launched as the Journal of the Ceylon College of Physicians in 1975.The CCP became the first exami

ning body outside the UK to offer MRCP examination, which it has held since 1971. We now have grown with our own home at Rajagiriya and have more than 700 members. We are leaders in the field of CPD and have a biannual journal and a newsletter for our membership. The CCP is committed to excellence in medical care in Sri Lanka. We are a non profit making organization of volunteers who come together to encourage continuing professional development (CPD), high degree of standards in clinical practice, and lobbying for good governance.Whatever we have achieved has been possible through the responsibility of our cooperate partners.We’ are one of the most active academic organizations in the country. As we celebrate 46 years of commitment, we wish to revamp and enhance our services and quality this year. As we do this we realize that the effect trickles down to the profession, society and to patients.
