Poya Camp – March 2026 | St. John Ambulance Trincomalee District

On 02.03.2026, the St. John Ambulance Trincomalee District successfully organized the Poya Camp program, bringing together brigade divisions to carry out meaningful training and service activities that promote discipline, teamwork, and community service.

As part of this program, activities were held at T/St. Joseph’s College, Trincomalee, where our brigade members conducted marching drill training to improve coordination and discipline. In addition, cadets carried out sick room cleaning, demonstrating responsibility and commitment to maintaining a healthy school environment.

The dedication and teamwork shown by our members truly reflect the spirit of service and unity upheld by St. John Ambulance.

The remarkable journey of St. John Ambulance in Trincomalee began in 1997 with its first initiative at St. Joseph’s College, Trincomalee. From these humble beginnings, our volunteers have dedicated 28 years to serving humanity—standing at the frontlines to provide first aid, disaster response, and community care, facing every challenge with courage and compassion. Over the decades, this journey has been about saving lives, building hope, and empowering communities across Trincomalee and beyond.

Today, our hearts are heavy as we remember those who lost their lives in the Titva Cyclone. Families were torn apart, and communities devastated, yet through the storm we witnessed resilience, unity, and the enduring power of service. We honor those we have lost and recommit ourselves to the mission they inspire—continuing to be a helping hand and a source of hope in times of crisis.

This 28th anniversary is more than a celebration—it is a reaffirmation of our commitment to serve, support, and protect humanity, carrying forward the spirit that began at St. Joseph’s College, Trincomalee, and continues to guide every act of compassion.
