FISD is proud to share that following her fantastic leadership with MenEngage Alliance South Asia, our Fearless Leader, FISD Program Director Samitha Sugathimala, has been elected by the Global Board of MenEngage, as the new Global Co-Chair of MenEngage Alliance!
Samitha has been the coordinator of the regional network of MenEngage Alliance South Asia - MEASA and regional representative to the Global Board, since July 2020.

NACG is a network for child protection that functions across all districts of the country.
NACG is composed of civil society organizations, childrenās and young peopleās groups, NGOs, institutes, and individuals etc. that are willing to work together on strengthening protection of all children in the country.
NACG also acts as the network of civil society members for South Asia Initiative to End Violence Against Children (SAIEVAC).
SAIEVAC is a regional initiative, spread out within the SAARC countries and is an apex body of SAARC. SAIEVACās the vision is that all children, girls and boys, throughout South Asia, enjoy their right to an environment free of all forms of violence, abuse, exploitation, neglect and discrimination.
SAIEVAC promotes, strengthening of existing child protection systems and increasing collaboration between government, civil society and other partners through NACG (National Action and Coordinating Group against Violence against Children) which is established in each member country.
Objectives of NACG Sri Lanka
To strengthen networking among the agencies, groups and activists at the national level, building a national alliance to prevent, address and end violence against children.
To facilitate collaboration amongst civil society, children and young people, government authorities, NGOs, UN Agencies etc on identified matters and responses related to protection needs of children as necessary.
To network among NACG members and other agencies/organizations working on protection of children through exchange of relevant information, best practices, programme interventions, protection strategies, etc.
To promote rights-based, inclusive and coordinated approach to preventing violence and protecting children by strengthening national and community based protection systems at all levels.
To engage in collaboration with global and national forums and bodies working on ending violence against children, such as the UN Special Representative to the Secretary General on Violence against Children.
To provide necessary technical and other support to SAIEVAC Coordinators/Governing Board Members and other government representatives at national level in furthering the SAIEVAC agenda and in the implementation of the SAIEVAC Work Plans and focusing on SAIEVAC thematic priorities as relevant for the country.
To promote, support and strengthen the national childrenās forum and cooperate with SAIEVAC in strengthening childrenās participation at the national and regional level.
To support advocacy for forming/reforming laws/policies/standards for their effective and consistent implementation, inclusion/increase of programmes on ending violence against children.
To work collectively to build evidence-based information and knowledge on protection and participation of children, which will contribute to relevant programme purposes.
To support the strengthening of national monitoring function on child protection issues. To review the changes in trends in the protection of children based on indicators related to national and regional commitments and declarations.
To support meaningful participation of children in agreed matters and to build capabilities of children accordingly. Representation of all children including children with disabilities, different ethnic groups, minority groups, etc. are considered crucial.
