💧 Connecting Young Minds with the Future of Water

A great afternoon of learning, interaction and networking at the University of Ruhuna! 🌊

The IWA Young Water Professionals Sri Lanka Chapter conducted an awareness and engagement session on 24 August 2026 for students of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences and Technology.

The session introduced students to International Water Association, YWP Sri Lanka, global and regional opportunities, and career pathways in the water sector, followed by an engaging panel discussion on: “Your Future in Water: Opportunities, Skills & Global Connections”

The interactive session also gave students an opportunity to share their interests and expectations for the proposed IWA YWP University of Ruhuna Chapter.

A big thank you to the University of Ruhuna, Department of Limnology and Water Technology, our panellists, IWA colleagues, academics and students for making the session a success.

We are delighted to introduce the "IWA YWP University of Ruhuna Chapter".
As a part of the establishment of the chapter, we will be hosting an awareness event on 24th August at the University of Ruhuna.

The session will introduce the vision behind establishing the chapter, its objectives, opportunities for student engagement, and the activities we hope to develop together as we move forward.

We are excited to begin this new journey at the University of Ruhuna and look forward to building a strong community of young water professionals, researchers, and students who are passionate about water and environmental sustainability.
