When the club chartered in August 2013 we had 20 members. Membership is open up to 35 members. We report all this through our bi-annual newsletter BE BOLD.

Lions Toastmasters Club is a Community Club formed specially for Lions and is proud to be The 1st Club in the World to represent two of the Largest Non-Profit Organisations, the Toastmasters International Organisation and Lions Clubs International There onwards the executive committee will decide how other requests can be met. We do see the need for leadership and communication training for Lions

as well as the General Public and that is why we are there. We have showcased the experience, enthusiasm and camaraderie among Lions at club & area events. Lion Toastmasters will soon be in action flaring up in the city and also across the nation. If the title does not convince you of who we are then you ought to read the contents, and better still visit our bi-weekly meetings held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday (Currently all meetings are held online.) 3rd Educational Meeting – Lions Toastmasters Club | Term 2026/2027

Our 3rd Educational Meeting was an evening filled with learning, laughter, and inspiration under the creative theme, “Mini Me.” Members embraced the theme by sharing their childhood photos, creating a nostalgic and engaging atmosphere that reminded us how every great journey begins with small steps.

The meeting was expertly led by our Toastmaster of the Day, TM Namindu, who guided the evening with energy and enthusiasm.

A special highlight of the meeting was an insightful Contest Readiness keynote session by TM Dian Abeywardene, conducted through our Join Club Series via Zoom. The session provided valuable guidance on contest preparation, effective stage usage, body language, speech delivery, and evaluation techniques, equipping members with the confidence to excel in Toastmasters contests.

The evening also featured engaging prepared speeches, lively Table Topics, thoughtful evaluations, and constructive feedback, giving everyone an opportunity to strengthen their communication and leadership skills.

A heartfelt thank you to all our members, guests, and our online keynote speaker for making this educational meeting both memorable and impactful. Together, we continue to learn, grow, and inspire one another as we move Beyond Boundaries.

2nd Educational Meeting – Lions Toastmasters Club | Term 2026/2027

Our 2nd Educational Meeting continued the inspiring journey of learning, growth, and transformation under the theme, “The Journey Begins.”

The evening was filled with enthusiasm, meaningful learning, and engaging participation from both members and guests. We were inspired by five outstanding prepared speeches, each demonstrating confidence, dedication, and the continuous progress of our members through the Toastmasters Pathways program.

The meeting also featured insightful evaluations, lively Table Topics, and constructive feedback that encouraged every participant to strengthen their communication and leadership skills. Every speech and evaluation reflected our commitment to personal and professional growth.

A special thank you to our Toastmaster of the Day, TM Dinushi Arunatileka, for leading the meeting with professionalism and enthusiasm, ensuring a memorable and impactful evening.
