We are delighted to share the success of the Free Oral Health Screening Programme held today in celebration of World Oral Health Day 2026 at Sahas Uyana, Kandy.

The programme was successfully inaugurated by the Dean of the Faculty of Dental Sciences together with the President of the SLDA Kandy Branch. We are proud to have served nearly 250 patients through comprehensive oral health screenings, promoting early detection and better awareness of oral health.

A special highlight of the day was the engaging street drama performance, which effectively communicated important oral health messages to the public. In addition, selected artworks from school and nursery students across the Kandy district were beautifully displayed at the art exhibition, adding creativity and community spirit to the event.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Sri Lanka Dental Association (main association), the Dean and the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya for their invaluable support and collaboration.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to the Haleon team for their generous sponsorship, which made this initiative possible.

Finally, we thank all dental surgeons, students, and members of the public who participated and contributed to making this programme a meaningful success.

📸 A Successful Evening of Learning – Introduction to Dental Photography
We were delighted to host the session “An Introduction to Dental Photography” at the CPC Hall, Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya.
With over 70 participants including undergraduate students, dental surgeons, postgraduate trainees, academic and non-academic staff, the session was a vibrant platform for learning and discussion.
A special thank you to Dr. Mayur Davda for delivering a highly informative and engaging presentation, sharing practical insights and demonstrating key techniques that highlighted the importance of dental photography in modern clinical practice.
We also extend our appreciation to Shining3D for their demonstration of intraoral scanners and the Shining3D ecosystem, and for generously sponsoring the event.
It was an inspiring session that brought together technology, clinical practice, and education.

An Introduction to Dental Photography
The Sri Lanka Dental Association – Kandy Branch invites dental surgeons, undergraduate students, and postgraduate trainees to an informative and practical session on Dental Photography.
This session will introduce the fundamentals of dental photography and its importance in modern clinical practice, documentation, and patient communication.
** Participating Doctors will also gain hands-on experience with an intra-oral scanner and the Shining3D ecosystem, providing exposure to digital dentistry technologies.
