🎓 කැලණිය විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ තොරතුරු හා සන්නිවේදන තාක්ෂණ (Information & Communication Technology ) ගෞරව උපාධිය
අද අපි ඔයාලව දැනුවත් කරන්න හදන්නේ කැලණිය විශ්වවිද්යාලයෙන් පිරිනමන BICT (Hons) අවුරුදු 4ක ගෞරව උපාධිය ගැනයි. A/L වලට ICT එක්ක Technology stream එක (Engineering Technology / Bio Systems Technology) හදාරපු ඔයාලටත්, IT field එකට එකතු වෙන්න හොඳම අවස්තාවක් තමයි මේ BICT (Hons) Degree Programme එක කියන්නෙ 💻✨.
අද ලෝකේ ඩිජිටල්කරණයත් එක්ක ICT field එක ඉතාමත් වේගවත් වර්ධනයක් තියෙන අංශයක් වෙලා තියෙනව කියල ඔයාල දන්නව ඇතිනේ 💻🌍.
ඒත් එක්ක IT, Software, Networking, Business Technology වගේ විවිධ ක්ෂේත්ර වල වෘත්තීය අවස්ථාවන් ගොඩක් නිර්මාණය වෙලා තියෙනවා.
ඒ නිසා ICT field එකට enter වෙන්න හිතන ඔයාට theoretical knowledge එකත් practical exposure එකත් balance වෙච්ච කැළනියෙ BICT උපාධිය හොද අවස්තාවක් වෙයි. 🚀
📘 BICT Degree එක මොන වගේ Degree එකක්ද?
BICT කියන්නේ Information Technology, Software Development, Networking, Database Systems, සහ Business Computing වගේ විෂයන් සම්බන්ධ කරලා නිර්මාණය කරපු multidisciplinary degree එකක්. මේ degree එකෙන් ඔයාලට programming skills වර්ධනය කරගන්නත්, systems design කරන්නත්, real-world applications නිර්මාණය කරන්නත් පුළුවන් වෙනවා 💡.
ඒ වගේම තවත් විශේශත්වයක් තමයි Third Year එකේ ඉඳන් ඔයාලට පුළුවන් ඔයා කැමති specialization pathway එක තෝරගන්න. ඒක නිසා තමන් කැමති සහ carrer goals වලට ගැලපෙන pathway එකෙන් ඉගෙන ගන්න ඔයාට පුලුවන්.
📚 Degree Structure (4 Years Overview)
🔹 1st Year – Foundation Stage
පළමු අවුරුද්දේදී ICT field එකේ මූලික අදියර ආරම්භ කරනවා. Programming fundamentals, computer systems & architecture, mathematics for computing, database concepts, web technologies සහ networking introduction වගේ subjects හරහා මූලික දැනුම ගොඩනගනවා. ඒ වගේම communication & presentation skills සහ problem solving techniques දියුණු කරමින් අනාගත ඉගෙනීම සඳහා ශක්තිමත් අඩිතාලමක් හදනවා.
🔹 2nd Year – Core ICT Knowledge
දෙවන අවුරුද්දේදී ටිකක් advanced technical පැති වලට යොමු වෙනවා. Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures & Algorithms, Operating Systems, Software Engineering සහ Network Administration වගේ මූලික විෂයන් ඉගෙනගන්න අතර, mobile & web application development සහ research practices වගේ පැති වලත් දැනුම පුළුල් වෙනවා. මේ stage එකේ theoretical + practical skills දෙකම balance එකේ දියුණු කරගන්න පුලුවන්.
🔹 3rd Year – Specialization Stage
තුන්වන අවුරුද්දේදී තමයි තමන්ගේ කැමැත්ත අනුව specialization pathway එකක් තෝරගන්නෙ 🎯. කැළණියෙ BICT degree එකේ pathways පහක් තියෙනවා. ඔයාට පුලුවන් ඔයාගෙ කැමැත්ත අනුව patway එකකට යොමු වෙන්න.
• Computer Networking pathway
මේ pathway එකෙන් networking, cyber security සහ infrastructure හා සම්බන්ධ තාක්ෂණයන්ගේ ගැඹුරු දැනුමක් ලබාගන්න පුළුවන්. ඒවගේම network design කිරීම, configure කිරීම, maintain කිරීම සහ troubleshoot කිරීම වගේ ප්රායෝගික දැනුම දියුණු කරගන්න වගේම ජාල ආරක්ෂාව, දත්ත ආරක්ෂා කිරීම, server පාලනය සහ cloud පද්ධති ගැනත් ඉගෙනගන්න පුළුවන්.
• Games & Animation pathway
මේ pathway එක වඩාත් නිර්මාණශීලී සිසුන් සඳහා සුදුසු වෙනවා. game development, animation, graphics programming සහ multimedia technologies වගේ දේවල් මේකෙන් ආවරණය කරනවා. Character design, story development, user experience design වගේ නිර්මාණශීලි දේවල් දියුණු කරගන්න පුලුවන්.
ඒ වගේම 2D/3D games සහ interactive content නිර්මාණය කිරීමේ practical අද්දැකීම් ලබා ගන්නත් පුලුවන්.
• Software Systems pathway
මේ pathway එකේ coding සහ system development පැත්තට වැඩි අවධානයක් යොමු වෙල තියෙනවා.
Advanced programming, software engineering, database systems සහ web/mobile යෙදුම් සංවර්ධනය ඉගෙනගන්නත් පුළුවන්.
AI වගේ modern technologies, system design, testing සහ teamwork වගේ industry practices මෙහි ඇතුළත්.
• Enterprising Computing pathway
මේ pathway එකෙන් business සහ IT එකට එකතු කරනවා. Entrepreneurship, business analytics, information systems සහ IT project management වගේ දේවල් මෙයින් ආවරණය වෙනවා.
Business problems වලට technology භාවිතා කරලා විසදුම් හොයන හැකියාන් වර්ධනය කරගන්න පුලුවන්. Leadership, decision making සහ startup mindset එකත් දියුණු වෙනවා.
• Standard pathway
Standard Pathway එක කියන්නේ BICT උපාධියේ තවත් වැදගත් pathway එකක්. ඔයා වෙනම specialization එකකට යන්න කැමති නැත්නම්, Standard Pathway එක තෝරාගන්න පුළුවන්.
එක් ක්ෂේත්රයකට සීමා නොවී, විවිධ ICT ක්ෂේත්ර වලින් විෂයන් ඉගෙනගෙන degree එක complete කරලා Special (Hons) Degree එකම ලබාගන්න අවස්ථාව තියෙනවා. මේ pathway එක හරහා ICT ක්ෂේත්රය පිළිබඳ පුළුල් සහ සම්පූර්ණ අවබෝධයක් ලබාගෙන, අනාගතයට ගැළපෙන direction එක තෝරාගන්න ඔයාට පහසු වෙනවා.
🔹 4th Year – Professional & Research Stage
අවසාන අවුරුද්දේදී තමයි industry එකට සූදානම් වෙන්නේ. Research project එකක් හෝ industry-based project එකක් කරමින් real-world ගැටලු විසදමින් අද්දැකීම් ලබා ගන්න පුලුවන් වෙනවා. Advanced technical modules, teamwork-based development, internship opportunities සහ career preparation activities හරහා professional skills වර්ධනය වෙනවා. මේ අවුරුද්ද ඔයාලව job market එකට සූදානම් කරගන්න ඉතා වැදගත් අවස්තාවක්.

BICT degree එක academics වලට විතරක් සීමා වෙන්නේ නැහැ 💙. University life එක විනෝදයෙන් ගත කරමින් ඔයාලගෙ කුසලතා දියුණු කරගන්න සුදුසුම පරිසරයක් තමයි මෙතන තියෙන්නේ. University එකේ තියෙන විවිධ clubs සහ societies වලට එකතු වෙලා ඔයාගේ දක්ෂතා වර්ධනය කරගන්න පුළුවන්, ඒ වගේම ICT degree එක හදාරන ශිෂ්යයෙක් කෙනෙක් විදිහට Information Technology Students’ Association (ITSA) එකත් එක්ක ක්රියාකාරීව සම්බන්ධ වෙන්නත් ඔයාට අවස්ථාව ලැබෙනවා.
