A Visit That Touched Our Hearts ❤️
On 13th July 2026, we had the privilege of visiting Meermure Primary School, nestled in a remote rural area between the Matale and Kandy districts, to make a school-item donation.
A small school building, just 18 primary students and 5 dedicated teachers, and very limited access to essential services — this was the reality we witnessed. With no hospital nearby and the school surrounded by the quiet simplicity of rural life, the visit was truly an eye-opening experience.
We were warmly welcomed by the school Principal and the little ones who were eagerly waiting to see us. Their happiness was beyond words. With their innocent smiles and hearts full of excitement, they had even prepared a few simple drama and singing performances as a token of appreciation. Their enthusiasm made the entire visit even more special.
What touched us most was their thoughtfulness. Despite having so little, they had lovingly arranged a simple yet wholesome meal for us. Their generosity and hospitality reminded us that kindness is never measured by what we have, but by what we are willing to share.
We left Meermure carrying more than memories. We carried the smiles of those little faces, the warmth of their welcome, and a renewed commitment to do whatever we can to support their education and brighten their future.
This was not a goodbye. We hope to return to Meermure again, with a renewed plan to support the school and contribute towards creating better opportunities for these little ones. ❤️
Sometimes, the smallest schools hold the biggest dreams.
