MR. SAMAN HAMANGODA ( 1960…. – 2025)
Partners in Alternative Training (PALTRA), with a heavy heart announces the death of Saman, one of the earliest members, later its Programme Director and then Executive Director and
during the past year as a Consultant. He passed away on the 31 March 2025 in Kandy, a few months after a critical brain surgery.
Since 2005 Saman took on the challenge of running Paltra with the cessation of donor core funding, and built it to its present stature, almost single-handedly with a single-minded commitment.
He was a much sought after consultant, teacher, guide, coach and friend. He has supported many civil society organisations with finding solutions to their operational and organisations issues.
He also guided many young persons in their careers.
Saman has partnered with , , /MSI, and and many other donor agencies and also with , , and a number of other Civil Society Organisations spread over the country.
