මහා ප්‍රජාපතී ගෝතමිය ඇතුළු ශාක්‍ය කුල කාන්තාවන් පිරිසට බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගෙන් පැවිදි හා උපසම්පදා ලබා දීමත් සමඟ භික්ෂුණී ශාසනය ආරම්භ වී, සිව්වනක් පිරිසකින් යුතු බුදු සසුන සම්පූර්ණ වූයේ අද වැනි උතුම් බිනර පුන් පොහෝ දිනයකදීය.

සම්බුද්ධ ශාසන ඉතිහාසයේ සුවිශේෂී සිදුවීම් රැසක් සිහිපත් කෙරෙන උතුම් නිකිණි පුන් පොහෝ දිනය අදයි.

ආනන්ද හිමියන් රහත් භාවයට පත්වීම, අජාසත් රජුගේ දායකත්වයෙන් රජගහ නුවරදී ප්‍රථම ධර්ම සංගායනාව පැවැත්වීම, බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගේ ලලාට ධාතුව නිදන් කර සේරුවාවිල මංගල චෛත්‍යයේ ඉදිකිරීම් ඇරඹීම සහ පෙර වස් මඟ හැරී ගිය භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේලා පසු වස් සමාදන් වීම නිකිණි පොහොය හා බැඳුණු වැදගත් ශාසනික සිදුවීම් අතර වේ.
