Clean Ocean Force proudly wrapped up its southern underwater cleanup series in Peraliya–Seenigama, Sri Lanka, marking the 6th consecutive dive of the 2026 southern season 🌊

At the Bandal Bro shipwreck and Maha Paraya dive sites, the team removed over 41 kg (wet weight) of ghost nets and ropes entangled within reef and wreck structures, silent threats to marine life and fragile ecosystems.

This initiative was carried out through the valued partnership with NDB Bank, with operational support from Earthlanka Youth Network and with Divevora Sri Lanka dive center contributing dive operations.

The mission was executed by a dedicated team of seven divers, including three female divers, who operated under challenging sea conditions.

Clean Ocean Force successfully carried out back-to-back underwater missions in the southern belt of Mirissa! Sri Lanka.🇱🇰

Targeting Deep Rock (22–25m) and Mirissa Rock (8–10m) dive sites, the team carefully removed over 50 kg (wet weight) of ghost nets tightly entangled within delicate coral reefs. The removal was challenging, but completed with extreme care to prevent any damage to the reef ecosystem.

This important mission was carried out under the valued partnership of NDB Bank with COF in marine conservation now extending for three long years, with the operational partnership of Earthlanka Youth Network.

The mission also highlighted the participation of three inspiring women divers, who carried out the work despite rough sea conditions.

Dive deep with us into the heart of our marine ecosystem! As we formally commenced the Southern underwater cleanups from the beautiful coastline of Unawatuna.

We are thrilled to launch our new movie series showcasing the incredible underwater seabed cleanup efforts by Clean Ocean Force, in proud partnership with NDB Bank.

Discover the hidden world beneath the waves and see firsthand how our youth team divers are working tirelessly to protect and restore our precious seabed. Every piece of debris removed is a step toward a healthier ocean. Join the movement and witness the change!

The unique feature of these two dives were that we had equal representation of Men & Women working shoulder to shoulder, providing equal opportunities. A big thank you to our operational partners Earthlanka and Pearl Divers PADI Resort for their valuable inputs.
