Clean Ocean Force together with 56 dedicated NDB Bank staff members, carried out a high-impact beach cleanup program at Kapumgoda Beach, removing a total of 641.25(Wet weight) kg of waste from the coastal environment. Among the 427.75 kg was polythene and polythene pieces, highlighting the continuing challenge of plastic pollution along our coastline and the urgent need for stronger action to prevent waste from reaching our beaches.

This initiative is part of NDB Bank’s ongoing three-year partnership with Clean Ocean Force under the Adopt-a-Beach program, supporting the long-term protection and conservation of Kapumgoda Beach. Through this partnership, three dedicated beach caretakers continuously monitor and maintain the beach, helping sustain the impact of regular cleanup and conservation efforts.

The cleanup was further strengthened by the support of Clean Ocean Force Youth, the Sri Lanka Police Environmental Division, and the Negombo Municipal Council, bringing together young volunteers, government authorities, local officials, and the private sector with one shared commitment to protect our coastline.

Following the cleanup, a special site visit and discussion were held with the relevant Public Health Inspectors and officials to identify practical measures and stronger actions to address beach littering and prevent the improper disposal of waste in the surrounding area.

Beach cleanups are not just about removing waste they are about creating lasting change. Through continued collaboration, community engagement, awareness, and stronger waste-management actions, we are working to reduce litter at its source and safeguard Kapumgoda Beach for the future.

Their commitment reminds us that real change is not made through one big effort, but through showing up, day after day.

Through their strength, dedication, and tireless work, they are helping build a cleaner coastline for our communities, marine life, and future generations.

Clean Ocean Force was proud to lead a special beach cleanup initiative at Crow Island with 24 participants, in collaboration with Adam & Eve Model Agency & Academy and the Mr. Sri Lanka 2026 team.

Ahead of the pageant, the participants came together to take meaningful action for our environment, successfully removing 236 kg of marine waste from the Crow Island beach.

What makes this initiative special is the collaboration between different communities, sectors, and platforms coming together for a common purpose. At Clean Ocean Force, we believe that protecting our oceans is a shared responsibility, and meaningful environmental action can take place at every stage of our communities and across different walks of life.

By creating opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds to participate in conservation activities, we aim to build stronger environmental awareness, encourage collective action, and inspire a culture of responsibility towards our oceans and coastal ecosystems.

Our sincere appreciation to Adam & Eve Model Agency & Academy, the Mr. Sri Lanka 2026 Organizing Committee, and all 24 participants for being part of this meaningful initiative.

6+ years of impact. Over 89,218 kg of waste removed.

Together, we're transforming Crow Island Beach Park : one cleanup at a time. Every volunteer, every bag of waste collected, and every small action brings us closer to a cleaner, healthier ocean. Crow island is the first ever beach Clean Ocean Force launched it’s operation 6 years ago. With It’s unique daily cleanup programs and the corporate partnerships we were able to sustainably remove this much of ocean trash from the Crow Island Beach in Mattakkuliya. We remain committed to continue this endeavour with impactful partnerships.

Let's keep protecting our beaches and preserving our oceans for future generations.
