Supporting Better Healthcare in Our Community 💙💛

The Lions Club of Minuwangoda Circle – District 306 D5 donated 30,000 medicine pouches to the Minuwangoda Base Hospital on 14th September 2026.

These medicine pouches will support the hospital in distributing medicines safely and conveniently to more than 6,000 patients who receive care through its clinics.

The Lions Club of Minuwangoda Circle carried out a mobility assistance project at Mathammana Orthopedic, where a custom prosthetic leg valued at Rs.500,000 was handed over to a recipient in need. The prosthesis was generously funded by Lion Brian Anthony. The donation restores the recipient's mobility and independence, enabling a return to daily activities and livelihood. Club members were present at the handover to meet the recipient and ensure a proper fitting.

Lions in attendance: Lion Brian Anthony, Lion Susil Janaka, Lion Nalaka Sampath, Lion Mahesh de Silva, Lion Parakrama Kulathunga, Lion Priyangi Dabarera and Lion Prasanna Silva.

It was an honour to host Lion Nandima Aroshie Halpitage MAF, Region Chairperson, at our monthly meeting held on 15th August 2026 at Hotel Kanchana, Minuwangoda. The meeting commenced following an official Board meeting held with the Region Chairperson.

In her address, she reminded us that the Lion is the king of the jungle not by strength alone, but because of its attitude — and that we too must learn our path and move forward gracefully towards achieving our objectives. She encouraged us all to embrace Lionism under the International motto: Fun, Fellowship and Service.

The evening concluded with fellowship and dinner, marking a memorable and inspiring visit for the members of LCOMC.

Official Visit of Region Chairperson.

It was an honour to host Lion Nandima Aroshie Halpitage MAF, Region Chairperson of Region 1, District 306 D5, at our monthly meeting held on 15th August 2026 at Hotel Kanchana, Minuwangoda accompanied by her father, veteran Lion Nandasiri Halpitage. The meeting commenced following an official Board meeting held with the Region Chairperson.
