Today, on International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem, the Youth Movement for Environment and Social Change stands alongside NAFSO to highlight the vital importance of our coastal forests.

Mangroves are more than just trees—they are our frontline defense against coastal erosion, carbon sinks protecting our climate, and home to thousands of marine species that sustain local fishing communities.

Protecting these ecosystems requires collective action and youthful leadership. Together, we can ensure a greener, more resilient coastline for generations to come.

Y-MESOC National Youth Committee Meeting 💪
Today at NAFSO Auditorium, youth leaders discussed the amendment process of the Y-MESOC Youth Constitution - By-laws, and new proposals on youth affairs & activities.
Focus: Strengthening youth leadership, climate justice, and active participation in fishing communities.
Building a stronger Y-MESOC together for the future! 🌱

අද NAFSO ශ්‍රවණාගාරයේදී Y-MESOC තරුණ ව්‍යවස්ථාව - උප නීති සංශෝධන ක්‍රියාවලිය සහ තරුණ කටයුතු හා ක්‍රියාකාරකම් පිළිබඳ නව යෝජනා සාකච්ඡා කරන ලදී.

*Day 2 | SMART Survey Building Training 🌊*
Day 2 at Chinthana Learning Center focused on turning insights into action. Youth leaders recapped Day 1, then worked on drafting survey documentation, compiling details using COP 30 guidelines, and did a *practical exercise on conducting surveys with community*. They also identified key issues in district reservoirs & lagoons.
The training ended with draft presentations, feedback, and closing — equipping youth mentors to lead data-driven climate justice in fishing communities! 💪

*දවස 2 | SMART සමීක්ෂණ ගොඩනැගීමේ පුහුණුව 🌊*
චින්තන ඉගෙනුම් මධ්‍යස්ථානයේ දෙවන දිනය: පළමු දිනයේ සමාලෝචනයකින් ආරම්භ විය. තරුණ නායකයින් සමීක්ෂණ ලියකියවිලි කෙටුම්පත් කිරීම, COP 30 මාර්ගෝපදේශ භාවිතයෙන් විස්තර සම්පාදනය කිරීම, ප්‍රජාව සමඟ සමීක්ෂණ *පැවැත්වීමේ ප්‍රායෝගික අභ්‍යාසය* සහ දිස්ත්‍රික් ජලාශ/කලපු වල ප්‍රධාන ගැටළු හඳුනාගැනීම පිළිබඳව කටයුතු කළහ.
කෙටුම්පත් ඉදිරිපත් කිරීම්, ප්‍රතිපෝෂණ සහ අවසන් උත්සවයෙන් පුහුණුව අවසන් විය.ප්‍රජාවන් තුළ දත්ත මත පදනම් වූ දේශගුණික යුක්තිය සඳහා තරුණ උපදේශකයින් සූදානම් කිරීම! 💪

சிந்தனை கற்றல் நிலையத்தில் நாள் 2: நாள் 1 மீள்பார்வையுடன் ஆரம்பமானது. இளைஞர் தலைவர்கள் கணக்கெடுப்பு ஆவணங்களை வரைவு செய்தல், COP 30 வழிகாட்டுதல்களை பயன்படுத்தி விவரங்களை தொகுத்தல், *சமூகத்துடன் கணக்கெடுப்பு நடத்துவதற்கான நடைமுறை பயிற்சி* மற்றும் மாவட்ட நீர்த்தேக்கங்கள்/கடல் ஏரிகளின் முக்கிய பிரச்சினைகளை அடையாளம் காணுதல் ஆகியவற்றில் ஈடுபட்டனர்.
வரைவு வழங்கல், கருத்துக்கள் மற்றும் நிறைவு விழாவுடன் பயிற்சி நிறைவடைந்தது. தரவு சார்ந்த காலநிலை நீதிக்கு இளைஞர் வழிகாட்டிகளை தயார்படுத்துகிறோம்! 💪

*Day 1 | SMART Survey Building Training 🌊*
Youth leaders gathered at Chinthana Learning Center for Day 1 of our practical session on Smart Survey Building to identify youth-related climate change challenges, environmental justice issues, and disaster risks in fishing communities.
From survey guidelines & ethics → group work on community challenges → to drafting the SMART survey together.
Training the next generation of youth mentors to lead climate action! 💪

*நாள் 1 | ஸ்மார்ட் கணக்கெடுப்பு கட்டமைப்பு பயிற்சி 🌊*
சிந்தனை கற்றல் நிலையத்தில் இன்று மீனவ சமூகங்களில் இளைஞர்கள் தொடர்பான காலநிலை மாற்ற சவால்கள், சுற்றாடல் நீதி பிரச்சினைகள் மற்றும் அனர்த அபாயங்களை அடையாளம் காணும் ஸ்மார்ட் கணக்கெடுப்பு கட்டமைப்பு பற்றிய நடைமுறை பயிற்சி ஆரம்பமானது.
கணக்கெடுப்பு வழிகாட்டுதல்கள் முதல் குழு விவாதம் வரை, சமூக அனுபவங்களின் அடிப்படையில் ஸ்மார்ட் கணக்கெடுப்பு வரைவு வரை பணிகள் முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டன.
காலநிலை நீதிக்காக இளைஞர் தலைமைத்துவத்தை வலுப்படுத்துகிறோம்! 💪

ප්‍රජාවන් තුළ තරුණයන්ට අදාළ දේශගුණික විපර්යාස අභියෝග, පාරිසරික යුක්තිය සහ ආපදා අවදානම් හඳුනාගැනීම සඳහා SMART සමීක්ෂණ ගොඩනැගීම පිළිබඳ ප්‍රායෝගික සැසිය අද චින්තන ඉගෙනුම් මධ්‍යස්ථානයේදී ආරම්භ විය.
සමීක්ෂණ මාර්ගෝපදේශ, සදාචාරාත්මක මාර්ගෝපදේශ → කණ්ඩායම් කටයුතු → ප්‍රජා අත්දැකීම් මත පදනම්ව SMART සමීක්ෂණ කෙටුම්පත් කිරීම දක්වා.

தேசிய மீனவ ஒத்துழைப்பு இயக்கத்தின் மன்னார் மாவட்ட வளர்பிறை பெண்கள் அமைப்பு மற்றும் இளைஞர் அமைப்பு ஒன்றிணைந்து பிளாஸ்டிக் பாவனையைக் குறைப்போம் எனும் தொனிப்பொருளுக்கு அமைவாக 06.07.2026 இன்றைய தினம் மன்னார் பாலத்தடிக்கு அருகாமையில் இருந்து நீதிமன்ற வளாகம் மற்றும் மன்னார் மீன் சந்தையை அண்டிய கடற்கரைப் பகுதியில் சிரமதானம் ஒன்று மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது. இந்நிகழ்வினை நடாத்துவதற்கு மாவட்ட செயலாளர் மற்றும் நகரசபை ஊழியர்கள் மன்னார் நகர சபை தவிசாளர்,பனங்கட்டுகொட்டு மீனவ சங்கம், பூரண பங்களிப்பை வழங்கினர் .சேகரிக்கப்பட்ட அனைத்து பிளாஸ்டிக் பொருட்களையும் நகர சபை மூலம் உரிய முறையில் அகற்றப்பட்டது மேலும் இந்நிகழ்வை பெண்கள் திட்ட செயற்பாட்டாளர் பிரியந்தா மற்றும் அமாவட்ட இணைப்பாளர் பெனடிக் குரூஸ் என்போர் ஒழுங்கமைத்து வழிநடத்தினர்

The National Fisheries Cooperation Movement's Mannar District Women's Organization and Youth Organization jointly organized a Shramadhanam on 06.07.2026, in line with the theme of "Let's reduce plastic consumption", near the Mannar bridge, near the court complex and the Mannar fish market. The District Secretary and Municipal Council staff, the Chairman of the Mannar Municipal Council, Panangkattukottu Fishermen's Association, fully contributed to the organization of this event. All the collected plastic items were disposed of properly by the Municipal Council. The event was organized and led by Women's Project Activist Priyantha and District Coordinator Benedict Cruz.

ජාතික ධීවර සහයෝගිතා ව්‍යාපාරයේ මන්නාරම දිස්ත්‍රික් කාන්තා සංවිධානය සහ තරුණ සංවිධානය එක්ව 2026.07.06 වන දින "ප්ලාස්ටික් පරිභෝජනය අඩු කරමු" යන තේමාවට අනුකූලව මන්නාරම පාලම අසල, අධිකරණ සංකීර්ණය අසල සහ මන්නාරම මත්ස්‍ය වෙළඳපොළ අසල ශ්‍රමදාන වැඩසටහනක් සංවිධානය කරන ලදී. දිස්ත්‍රික් ලේකම් සහ නගර සභා කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය, මන්නාරම මහ නගර සභාවේ සභාපති, පනංකට්ටුකොට්ටු ධීවර සංගමය, මෙම උත්සවය සංවිධානය කිරීම සඳහා පූර්ණ දායකත්වය ලබා දුන්හ. එකතු කරන ලද සියලුම ප්ලාස්ටික් ද්‍රව්‍ය නගර සභාව විසින් නිසි ලෙස බැහැර කරන ලදී. කාන්තා ව්‍යාපෘති ක්‍රියාකාරිනී ප්‍රියන්තා සහ දිස්ත්‍රික් සම්බන්ධීකාරක බෙනඩික්ට් කෲස් විසින් උත්සවය සංවිධානය කර මෙහෙයවන ලදී.
