The Sri Lanka Life Saving (SLLS) is the National body for life-saving and water safety-related activities in Sri Lanka. It is affiliated with the International Life Saving Federation (ILS), Royal Life Saving (Commonwealth), International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF - UK), and UITEMATE - Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan. The SLLS is affiliated with the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs

of Sri Lanka (National Association of Sports Regulation No. 25, 1973 and National Association of Sports Regulation 2016.10.27 No. 1990/23 (23rd National Sport), Also recognized by the Ministry of Health, Education, Defense, Social Services and Disaster Management Center of Sri Lanka. We are under government audit and are an approved charity organization with totally non remunerated volunteers of various age groups and communities. Our main objective is to reduce drowning and water-related accidents both in onshore and offshore within the country. SLLS is a nonprofit organization and operates mainly with the best public interest and always considers doing good to society. Harry Nightingale from Bondi Beach 1947 May 31, Australia was revamped in 2009 by Mr. Norman Farmer ESM yet again from Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) and Life Saving Victoria (LSV), Australia.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා ජීවිතාරක්ෂක සංගමය යනු ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ජීවිතාරක්ෂක ක්‍රියා සහ ජලයෙදී ආරක්ෂාව පිළිඹඳව කටයුතු කරන ජාතික ආයතනයයි. ශ්‍රී ලංකා ජීවිතාරක්ෂක සංගමය අන්තර්ජාතික ජීවිතාරක්ෂකයන්ගේ සම්මේලනය (ILSF ), පොදුරාජ්‍ය මණ්ඩලීය රාජකීය ජීවිතාරක්ෂකයන්ගේ සංගමය (එක්සත් රාජධානිය), අන්තර්ජාතික මුහුදු ජීවිතාරක්ෂකයන්ගේ සම්මේලනය (IMRF -UK ) සහ ජපානයේ නගයෝකා තාක්ෂණික විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ UITEMATE වැනි සංගම් සමග අනුබද්ධව කටයුතු කරයි.
ශ්‍රී ලංකා ජීවිතාරක්ෂක සංගමය ක්‍රීඩා හා තරුණ කටයුතු අමාත්‍යංශය යටතේ 1973 අංක 25 දරන ජාතික ක්‍රීඩා සංගම් පනත හා 2016.10.27 අංක 1990/23 දරන ජාතික ක්‍රීඩා නියාමන සංගම් පනත යටතේ 23 වන ජාතික ක්‍රීඩාව ලෙස ලියාපදිංචි කර ඇති අතර, සෞක්‍ය, අධ්‍යාපන, ආරක්ෂක, සමාජ සේවා අමාත්‍යංශ හා ශ්‍රී ලංකා ආපදා කළමනාකරණ මධ්‍යස්ථානය මගින් ද හඳුනාගෙන ඇත.
අප ශ්‍රී ලංකා රජයේ විගණනය යටතේ කටයුතු කරන අතර, අනුමත පුණ්‍යාතන සංවිධානයක් ලෙස විවිධ වයස් මට්ටම් හා ජාතින් වලින් යුත් ස්වෙච්චා සේවකයන් ගෙන් සමන්විත වේ.
අපගේ ප්‍රධාන අරමුණ නම් ලංකාවේ රට තුල හා මුහුදු තීරයේ ඇති වන දියේ ගිලීම් හා ජලාශ්‍රිත අනතුරු අවම කිරීමයි.
ශ්‍රී ලංකා ජීවිතාරක්ෂක සංගමය නම් සමාජයේ සුභසිද්ධිය වෙනුවෙන් තමන්ගේ උපරිම සේවය ඉටුකරන්නාවූ ලාභ නොලබන සංවිධානයකි.
අප නිර්මාතෘවරයා වන්නේ බොන්ධයි වෙරළේ ජිවිතාරක්ෂක හැරී නයිටින්ගේල් මහතා වන අතර ඒ මහතා 1947 මැයි 31 දී අප සංගමය පිහිටවූ අතර, සංගමය නැවතත් 2009 දී ඕස්ට්‍රේලියානු ජීවිතාරක්ෂක සංගමයේ (SLSA) හා වික්ටෝරියා ජීවිතාරක්ෂක සංගමයේ (LSV)
නෝමන් ෆාර්මර් මහතා විසින් යලි ලෝක මට්ටම දක්වා ඔසවා තබන ලදී.

ஆஸ்திரேலியாவின் பாண்டாய் கடற்கரையிலிருந்து திரு ஹாரி நைட்டிங்கேல் தொடங்கிய பயணம் 2009 இல் திரு. நோஹ்ர்மன் ஃபார்மார் ஆள் மீண்டும் சர்ஃப் லைஃப் சேவிங் ஆஸ்திரேலியா (SLSA) மற்றும் லைஃப் சேவிங் விக்டோரியா (LSV),ஆஸ்திரேலியா புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்டது.

This journey began after the devastating 2004 tsunami, when Mr. Elmo Jayawardena and the CandleAid team first introduced the Swim for Safety initiative with a vision to protect future generations from drowning.

From 2012 onwards, Sri Lanka Life Saving (SLLS) transitioned the program into a fully civilian-led initiative and proudly partnered with the UITEMATE Japan Survival Swim Teaching Programme, integrating survival swimming principles into national water safety and drowning prevention efforts.

In 2016, SLLS joined hands with Life Saving Victoria (LSV) to develop a structured curriculum, including the Trainer’s Handbook and Student Handbook, with valuable support from the Australian High Commission and the International Life Saving Federation (ILS).

In 2017, the program received support through Commonwealth Drowning Prevention, marking another important international collaboration.

From 2018 to 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) Sri Lanka Office played a major role in expanding the program islandwide.

During the difficult economic and political crisis faced by Sri Lanka in 2021–2022, the program continued strongly thanks to the intervention and support of the International Life Saving Federation (ILS), which connected us with the Fondation Princesse Charlène de Monaco, our exclusive donor and partner since 2021.

SLLS was proud to participate in the “Workshop on Basic Swimming Skills in Low Resource Settings” held in Hue.

The workshop brought together international experts and organizations working towards drowning prevention, survival swimming, and community based water safety programmes, providing valuable opportunities for learning, collaboration, and sharing best practices for low-resource settings.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the host organizations RNLI Royal National Lifeboat Institution, World Health Organization (WHO), Commonwealth Drowning Prevention - The Royal Life Saving Society, and Hue Help for organizing this important initiative and for their continued commitment towards saving lives through drowning prevention.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා ජීවිතාරක්ෂක සංගමය (SLLS), Hue හි පැවති “අඩු සම්පත් පසුබිම්වල මූලික පිහිනුම් කුසලතා” (Workshop on Basic Swimming Skills in Low Resource Settings) වැඩමුළුවට සහභාගී වීම පිළිබඳව අභිමානයෙන් දැනුම් දෙයි.

🌊 இலங்கை உயிர்காக்கும் சங்கம் (SLLS), Hue நகரில் நடைபெற்ற “குறைந்த வளங்களைக் கொண்ட சூழல்களில் அடிப்படை நீச்சல் திறன்கள்” (Workshop on Basic Swimming Skills in Low Resource Settings) பணிமனைக்கு பங்கேற்றதை பெருமையுடன் அறிவிக்கிறது.

Sri Lanka Life Saving (SLLS) successfully concluded the 75th Junior National Lifesaving Championships, bringing together the nation’s top Youth lifesaving athletes for two days of exceptional performance, skill, and determination.

From powerful swims to precise rescue techniques, the championships showcased the true spirit of lifesaving — discipline, teamwork, and excellence. 🌊

இலங்கை உயிர்காக்கும் சங்கம் (SLLS) நடத்திய 75வது தேசிய இளையோர் உயிர்காக்கும் சாம்பியன்ஷிப் வெற்றிகரமாக நிறைவடைந்தது.
