Ceylon Safari ‘17 and Ceylon Safari ‘18 won Gold and Silver Awards for the Most Outstanding International Understanding Project at the Rotaract District Assemblies. Back in 1995, Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa, also referred to as Rotaract Mora, was initiated as the first university based Rotaract Club of Sri Lanka with only 16 members. t Mora has grown up to be one of the largest clubs within the university, with the high enrollment rates leading to the present member base of over 200. Chartered under the Rotaract District 3220 and sponsored by Rotary Club of Colombo West, each year the club undertakes numerous projects falling under 4 avenues; club service, community service, international service and professional development, via which the members give their fullest in enhancing the standards of the community as well as their very own fellow members. The undergraduates strive to uplift Rotaract Mora to the highest pinnacles of excellence through their commitment and dedication. WHAT IS CEYLON SAFARI?
‘Ceylon Safari’ is an international service project which is organized by the Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa with the main objective of exploring these alluring aspects while strengthening the international relationships and cross cultural awareness amongst the participants. The project aims to provide the participants with valuable insights into the nature and history of Sri Lanka through expeditions, treks and safaris enveloping specific areas of the island which hold prominence in various aspects. In addition, the participants are given an opportunity to gain exposure to the culture and general social style of Sri Lanka.
