Institute for Development of Community Strengths - Indecos Non Profit Community Development and Strengthening Organization Serving Marginalised Men and Women

The Institute for Development of Community Strengths (INDECOS) is a community development and training organization based in Sri Lanka. The group supports women, children, youth, disabled, and additional vulnerable populations across multiple areas and in a variety of capacities such as social services, education, health, and environmental conservation. INDECOS works irrespective of race, religion

, caste, or party politics. Funded by over 35 donors including World Bank, UN agencies, and more, INDECOS strives to draw increased attention towards disadvantaged people while enabling them to achieve a better collective future for all. As of 2024, INDECOS has implemented over 100 projects in the Matara, Galle, and Hambantota districts.

WUSC, in partnership with the Institute for the Development of Community Strengths (INDECOS), successfully organized an advocacy event in celebration of the International 16 Days of Activism.

Although originally planned for 2025, the event was held in 2026 while still embracing the 2025 global theme. Activities took place on 21st January 2026 at Matara Technical College and on 22nd January 2026 at the National Youth Council.

The event was supported by WUSC and Global Affairs Canada and implemented by INDECOS, bringing together young people and stakeholders to raise awareness and promote action against gender-based violence.

Together, we continue to stand for equality, safety, and justice for all.
