Every life deserves a chance. ❤️🐾

While thousands of animal lovers recently risked arrest protesting to save beagles from a research facility in the US, one quote stood out:

“If you love animals, now is the time to stand up for them.”

At Bridging Lanka Hendro Centre, we see that same need every day. Unwanted puppies and kittens are literally thrown over our fence, abandoned with nowhere else to go. Our team takes them in, providing food, shelter, medical care and, most importantly, love.

But our (HARC) is now at risk. Without funding for our rabies vaccination and treatment program, we may be forced to rethink the future of this lifesaving initiative.

We’re not asking anyone to face tear gas or rubber bullets. A simple donation can make all the difference for our furry family.

All creatures great or small—our rabies vaccination and treatment program is the shield that protects every puppy and kitten we rescue, but vaccines, emergency treatment, medicines, and follow-up vet care all come at a cost. Without this funding, we may have to close our doors: please help us keep our gates—and our hearts—open. 🐶🐱💙

For these boys in Mannar, a bike is more than a bike. 🚲

It’s movement, freedom, confidence, and a healthier mind. This 30-second clip captures a practice run for a bigger bike tour project we’re developing — but for our younger kids, the everyday benefits are already here: exercise, joy, and time outdoors that lifts the spirit.

When Titles Reflect True Service

We are incredibly proud to congratulate Professor Terence Jeyaretnam AM on being awarded Member of the Order of Australia in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours—recognising his significant service to social justice, environmental conservation, and sustainability.

While titles are not always indicative of one’s true commitment and service—and in the spirit of Terence’s humility—there are moments when they genuinely reflect a lifetime of impact. This is one of them, and at Bridging Lanka we are proud to celebrate this well-deserved honour.

While his work in sustainability is widely recognised, we are especially grateful for Terence’s longstanding support and commitment to our mission. His dedication to social justice is reflected in his contributions—advancing initiatives that bridge ethnic, religious, and geographic divides through people-centred action, and empowering vulnerable communities with dignity and opportunity.
