Today, we celebrate those who stand beside young people, challenge them to grow, and inspire them to go further.

𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 – 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 | 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟑

As part of our 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 – 𝐃𝐨 – 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 approach, Day 3 was all about 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰.

The final day focused on reviewing the learning through practical activities, Adventurous Journey reports and group presentations. Our volunteers shared their experiences, presented their work and reflected on what they had learned throughout the three days.

The programme concluded with a 𝘾𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙮, recognising the commitment and effort of our Award Leaders.

The Award always expects the same enthusiasm, commitment and spirit from our volunteers as they continue to guide young people through their Award journey.

අපගේ Plan - Do - Review ප්‍රවේශයේ කොටසක් ලෙස, 3 වන දිනය සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම Review (සමාලෝචනය) ගැන විය.

අවසාන දිනය අවධානය යොමු කළේ ප්‍රායෝගික ක්‍රියාකාරකම්, ත්‍රාසජනක ගමන් වාර්තා සහ කණ්ඩායම් ඉදිරිපත් කිරීම් හරහා ඉගෙනීම සමාලෝචනය කිරීම කෙරෙහි ය. අපගේ ස්වේච්ඡා සේවකයන් ඔවුන්ගේ අත්දැකීම් බෙදාහදා ගත් අතර, ඔවුන්ගේ කාර්යයන් ඉදිරිපත් කර දින තුන පුරා ඉගෙන ගත් දේ පිළිබඳව මෙනෙහි කළහ.

වැඩසටහන අවසන් වූයේ අපගේ Award Leaders ලාගේ කැපවීම සහ උත්සාහය ඇගයීමට ලක් කරමින් සහතික පත්‍ර ප්‍රදානෝත්සවයකින් ය.

Award එක සැමවිටම අපගේ ස්වේච්ඡා සේවකයන්ගෙන්, ඔවුන් තරුණයින්ට ඔවුන්ගේ Award ගමන හරහා මඟ පෙන්වීම දිගටම කරගෙන යන විට, එම උද්යෝගය, කැපවීම සහ ජවයම අපේක්ෂා කරයි.

எமது 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 – 𝐃𝐨 – 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 அணுகுமுறையின் ஒரு பகுதியாக, மூன்றாம் நாள் முழுமையாக 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 (மீளாய்வு) செய்வதற்காக அமைந்திருந்தது.

இறுதி நாளில், நடைமுறைச் செயற்பாடுகள், Adventurous Journey அறிக்கைகள் மற்றும் குழு விளக்கக்காட்சிகள் மூலம் கற்றுக்கொண்ட விடயங்களை மீளாய்வு செய்வதில் முக்கிய கவனம் செலுத்தப்பட்டது. எமது தன்னார்வலர்கள் தங்களது அனுபவங்களைப் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டு, தாங்கள் மேற்கொண்ட பணிகளை முன்வைத்து, மூன்று நாட்களிலும் பெற்றுக்கொண்ட கற்றல்களைப் பற்றி சிந்தித்துப் பகிர்ந்துகொண்டனர்.

நிகழ்ச்சியானது, எமது Award Leaders-இன் அர்ப்பணிப்பு மற்றும் முயற்சியைப் பாராட்டும் வகையில் நடைபெற்ற 𝘾𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙮 (சான்றிதழ் வழங்கும் நிகழ்வு) மூலம் நிறைவடைந்தது.

இளைஞர்கள் தங்களது Award பயணத்தை தொடர்ந்து முன்னெடுக்க வழிகாட்டும் எமது தன்னார்வலர்களிடமிருந்து, எப்போதும் அதே உற்சாகம், அர்ப்பணிப்பு மற்றும் அர்ப்பணிப்பு உணர்வுடன் கூடிய சேவை மனப்பான்மையை Award எதிர்பார்க்கிறது.

𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 – 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 | 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐

As part of our 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 – 𝐃𝐨 – 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 approach, Day 2 was all about 𝐃𝐨.

Rather than spending the day sitting in a classroom, our volunteers got involved in practical learning and put their knowledge into action.

The day focused on the Award Principles and Outcomes, along with practical sessions on Map Reading, Navigation, Group Dynamics and understanding the Adventurous Journey.

A big thank you to Senior Trainer Mrs. Pradeepa Wijewardane and Major Ruwan for leading the sessions, together with National Director Mr. Ramanan Selvanathan and the NYSC team.

A day of learning by doing, teamwork and real experience.

අපගේ Plan - Do - Review ප්‍රවේශයේ කොටසක් ලෙස, 2 වන දිනය සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම Do (ක්‍රියාවට නැංවීම) ගැන විය.

පන්ති කාමරයක වාඩි වී දවස ගත කරනවා වෙනුවට, අපගේ ස්වේච්ඡා සේවකයන් ප්‍රායෝගික ඉගෙනීමට සම්බන්ධ වී ඔවුන්ගේ දැනුම ක්‍රියාවට නැංවීය.

දිනය අවධානය යොමු කළේ Award මූලධර්ම සහ ප්‍රතිඵල කෙරෙහි, ඒ සමඟම සිතියම් කියවීම, මාර්ග සොයා යාම (Navigation), කණ්ඩායම් ගතිකත්වය සහ ත්‍රාසජනක ගමන (Adventurous Journey) අවබෝධ කර ගැනීම පිළිබඳ ප්‍රායෝගික සැසි කෙරෙහි ය.

සැසි මෙහෙයවූ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ පුහුණුකරු ප්‍රදීපා විජේවර්ධන මහත්මියට සහ මේජර් රුවන් මහතාට, ජාතික අධ්‍යක්ෂ රමණන් සෙල්වනාදන් මහතා සහ NYSC කණ්ඩායම සමඟ එක්ව විශාල ස්තූතියක්.

කරමින් ඉගෙන ගත්, කණ්ඩායම් වැඩ සහ සැබෑ අත්දැකීම් සහිත දවසක්.

**𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 – 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 | 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐**

எமது **𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 – 𝐃𝐨 – 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰** அணுகுமுறையின் ஒரு பகுதியாக, இரண்டாம் நாள் முழுமையாக **𝐃𝐨** என்பதைக் கொண்டதாக அமைந்தது.

வகுப்பறையில் அமர்ந்து கற்றுக்கொள்வதை விட, எமது தன்னார்வலர்கள் நடைமுறைப் பயிற்சிகளில் நேரடியாக ஈடுபட்டு, தாங்கள் கற்றவற்றை செயற்பாட்டில் பயன்படுத்தினர்.

அன்றைய தினம் Award கொள்கைகள் மற்றும் பெறுபேறுகள், வரைபட வாசிப்பு (Map Reading), வழிகாட்டல் மற்றும் பாதை கண்டறிதல் (Navigation), குழு இயக்கவியல் (Group Dynamics) மற்றும் Adventurous Journey பற்றிய புரிதல் ஆகியவற்றில் கவனம் செலுத்தப்பட்டது.

இந்தப் பயிற்சி அமர்வுகளை முன்னெடுத்த Senior Trainer திருமதி. பிரதீபா விஜேவர்தன மற்றும் Major ருவன் ஆகியோருக்கு எமது நன்றிகள். தேசிய பணிப்பாளர் திரு. ரமணன் செல்வநாதன் மற்றும் NYSC குழுவினரின் ஆதரவுடனும் இந்தப் பயிற்சிகள் இடம்பெற்றன.

கற்றுக்கொள்வது மட்டுமல்லாமல், செயற்பாட்டின் மூலம் கற்றல், குழுப்பணி மற்றும் உண்மையான அனுபவங்களைப் பெற்ற ஒரு சிறந்த நாள்.

𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 – 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award programme in Sri Lanka successfully trained 45+ volunteers from 1–3 October 2026.

The programme was conducted under the patronage of Chairman/Director General Mr. Supun Wijerathna , with the leadership of National Director Ramanan Selvanathan.

Special thanks to the Mr Manula Chamal Perera (Director – Administration) for the valuable support behind the programme.

The first day began with the overall objectives and planning sessions led by Mr. Ramanan Selvanathan, together with Mr. Ashoka Weliange, Assistant Director of the National Youth Award Division.

Mr. Dhammika Sampayo, Deputy Director – Training, National Youth Services Council, joined the programme for a special session on creating an impact on young people and the importance of volunteerism.

Mr. Adikari conducted a special session on Bonfire, followed by the volunteers putting their learning into practice by organising their own bonfire on the same day.

We also appreciate the support of Mr. Neil Kathriachchi and Ms. Nilanthi Wickramage, who supported the training as silent spectators throughout the day.

Day 1 was a strong start to three days of learning, sharing and developing better Award Leaders.

Award Leaders Training – September Series | Day 3

We always follow the Award approach: Plan – Do – Review.

The third and final day of the Level 2 Award Leaders Training was dedicated to reviewing the learning and looking ahead.

Award Leaders took part in practical activities, group presentations and real-life scenarios, followed by discussions on their next plans.

The day also focused on the importance of understanding and applying the Guiding Principles and Philosophies of the Award when working with young people.

A day of reflection, sharing and planning for the journey ahead.

Award Leaders Training – September Series | Day 2 Evening

The evening of Day 2 brought a different kind of learning to the Award Leaders.

Mr. Adikari introduced the Award Leaders to the concept of the Bonfire and shared the importance of enjoying and celebrating every milestone throughout the Award journey.

The learning continued into the night as the Award Leaders came together to successfully organise their own bonfire.

It was a simple but meaningful experience that reminded everyone that the Award journey is not only about skills and achievement, but also about friendship, teamwork and enjoying the journey together.
