The Award is growing and thriving. Mr. Akalanka Wickramatilake, District Commissioner of the Kalutara District, St. John Sri Lanka, visited our headquarters to discuss future collaboration with the Award.

Several major initiatives are currently under discussion, with the shared goal of reaching and serving more young people.

we had the privilege of hosting representatives from Mauritius and Slovenia in Sri Lanka for a reconnaissance (recce) visit to the Sinharaja – Deniyaya route, a potential location for future Adventurous Journey activities under the Award programme.

The purpose of this visit was to assess the route, review its suitability, and explore opportunities for future international Adventurous Journeys.

Our sincere appreciation goes to our guide and the entire country team for their dedication, support, and valuable contributions throughout the visit.

The visit was attended by National Director Ramanan Selvanathan, representatives from Mauritius and Slovenia, and Mr. Adhikari, District Coordinator – Gampaha.

We look forward to strengthening international collaboration and creating more meaningful Adventurous Journey experiences in the future.

In a world shaped by rapid advances in AI, one message stood out at this week's AI for Good in Geneva: 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿.

Our Secretary General, Martin Houghton-Brown, joined leaders from business, government, and civil society to explore how we can prepare young people for the future. On a panel alongside Felipe Paullier , Assistant Secretary-General for UN Youth Affairs Martin shared the Award's perspective on why programmes like the Award help young people develop the confidence, resilience, leadership, and other they'll need to thrive.

The conversation doesn't end in Geneva. We'll continue championing the importance of human skills on the global stage and working to ensure more young people have access to opportunities that help them build them.
