Lions Club of Maharagama Golden City founded in 2009 February is one of the most active Lions Clubs in the Lions District 306 C2. In this short tenure of 8 years, we have done many valuable projects including construction of 6 complete houses, projects for more than 12,000 pregnant mothers, donating more than 5,000 spectacles, Library books, Portable Cataract Operation machine for Neth Setha eye h

2009/10 District’s Most Outstanding Club of the Year - 1st Runner Up
2011/12 District’s Most Outstanding Club of the Year
Multiple Districts’ Award for International Relation & Cooperation - 1st Runner Up
2013/14 District’s Most Outstanding Club of the Year
Multiple Districts’ Award for International Relation & Cooperation - 1st Place
2014/15 District’s Most Outstanding Club of the Year - 1st Runner Up
2015/16 District’s Most Outstanding Club of the Year - 1st Runner Up
2016/17 District’s Most Outstanding Club of the Year

Also we have produced a prestigious Lion as the Lion of the Year in 2009/10. Apart from those, we have received various awards such as Best President, Best Secretary, Best Treasurer and many more service awards from the district throughout these years. Lions Club of Maharagama has completed 3 Mega Legacy projects.
1. Construction of the waiting room for visitors of Castle Street Maternity Hospital, Borella.
1. Refurbishing & re-designing the Perinatal Ward of the Institute of Mental Health, Angoda in 2016.
2. Construction of "Siha Siyawas Seya" sthoopa at the Sri Sambuddhathwa Temple, Ranala. Also we have received a wide recognition in the Multiple District as well. That is mainly because of the fact that we have been able to bring down a foreign Governor for the 1st time in Sri Lanka by our club and done various service activities with the help of the Singapore Lions headed by Past District Governor Lion Singa Retnam.

Our Story

Lions Club of Maharagama Golden City founded in 2009 February is one of the most active Lions Clubs in the Lions District 306 C2. In this short tenure of 9 years, we have done many valuable projects including construction of 6 complete houses, projects for more than 12,000 pregnant mothers, donating more than 5,000 spectacles, Library books and a Portable Cataract Operation machine for Neth Setha eye hospital are some of the few main 800 projects we did as service activities. It is also remarkable that we have donated 143 brand new wheel chairs in a single year.

Because of this unmatchable effort we have become;
