🌟 District Governor's Official Visit to Lions Club of Kurunegala Legends 🌟

On 23rd November 2025, the Lions Club of Kurunegala Legends had the honor of hosting the District Governor's Official Visit at Prarthana Nelum Pokuka Reception, Pothuhera, Kurunegala at 7.30 pm.

The event was graced by our Chief Guest District Governor Lion Rukman Bandaranayake MJF PMAF, accompanied by Patron Lion Lady Thushari Bandaranayake, and was presided over by our Club 2nd Vice President Lion Shenal Kaveesha.

The distinguished guests included:

1st Vice District Governor - Lion Pushpakumara Dissanayake MJF PMAF and Spouse Lion Lady Anushalya

2nd Vice District Governor - Lion Lady Padmini Jayasena Herath MJF MAF

Cabinet Secretary - Lion Deepak Rajapakse MAF

District Cabinet Treasurer - Lion Anura Priyadarshana MJF MAF

Region Chairperson, Region 3 - Lion Dilshan Perera

District GMT Coordinator - Lion Rohana Hettiarachchi MJF

Guiding Lion - Lion Rohana Halwathura MJF PMAF - LC Yakkala City

Before the monthly regular meeting, the District Governor conducted a board meeting, where he reviewed the club’s health and assessed its administrative performance.

Altogether, 35 Lions participated in this regular meeting with District Governor's Official Visit.

During the meeting, the first District Cub Club was officially introduced by the District Governor Lion Rukman Bandaranayake MJF PMAF. As part of this special moment, four Cub Kids proudly received their pins, while two were absent and could not receive theirs.

In his inspiring speech, the District Governor highly appreciated the Lions Club of Kurunegala Legends for its strong leadership and efficient administration, recognizing it as a Pioneer Club serving with dedication and discipline. He further highlighted that the club has already produced three cabinet officers for the district and expressed confidence that many more capable leaders will emerge from the club in the coming years.

This official visit marked another proud milestone in the journey of the Lions Club of Kurunegala Legends, strengthening our commitment to leadership and community service. 🦁✨

දිස්ත්‍රික් කුසගිනි නිවාලන සතිය වෙනුවෙන් කුරුණෑගල ලෙජන්ඩ්ස් සිංහ සමාජය ගර්භනී මව්වරුන් 40 දෙනෙකු වෙනුවෙන් පෝෂ්‍යදායි ආහාර වේලක් බෙදා දීමට පසුගියදා කටයුතු කළෝය.

The Lions Club of Kurunegala Legends conducted a Hunger Prevention Project on 2nd October 2025 at the Rukgolla Government Clinic Center, specially dedicated to supporting pregnant mothers. This meaningful service initiative was organized under the District Hunger Program.

A total of 40 pregnant mothers were provided with nutritious food, including a glass of Kola Kenda, a piece of Halapa, and a variety of fresh fruits. These traditional and natural food items are rich in essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, fiber, and iron, which are highly important for the health and wellbeing of both the mother and the developing baby.

A total of six dedicated club members actively participated in this program, making it a successful and impactful event that not only supported the mothers nutritionally but also emphasized the Lions Club’s commitment to community health and wellbeing.

On 31st August 2025, the Lions Club of Kurunegala Legends had the honor of hosting the Zone Chairperson's Official Visit at the beautiful Prarthana Nelumpolukuna Hotel. 🌹

The evening was filled with camaraderie, inspiration, and service-driven discussions, making it a truly successful and meaningful gathering. 🙌💛

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Zone Chairperson for gracing us with their presence and guidance, and to all our members for their unwavering dedication to Lionism and community service. 🦁❤️

🌱 Haritha Ananthaya 2025 – Our First Step Towards a Greener Tomorrow! 🌱

The Lions Club of Kurunegala Legends proudly marked its first official service project for the Lionistic Year 2025/2026 today, 8th July 2025, at Weera Niyomal Palipana Maha Vidyalaya, Ibbagamuwa, Kurunegala.

As part of District 306 D11’s Service Week initiative – , we successfully organized a meaningful tree planting campaign aimed at inspiring future generations to value sustainability and environmental responsibility.

We were honored by the presence of:
🟡 Lion Sudath Dalugama – District GST Coordinator
🟡 Lion Rienzie De Silva PMAF – District Evaluation & IT Coordinator

Their support and encouragement truly elevated the spirit of the event.

🌳 A total of 30 fruit plants were planted throughout the school premises. In a thoughtful gesture to promote long-term care, each plant was assigned to a specific class, giving over 150 students the opportunity to take responsibility for nurturing their own tree. 💧🌿

This impactful event was organized with the support of 6 active Lions and Lion Ladies from our club, highlighting our shared commitment to environmental stewardship and community empowerment.

Together, we took a meaningful step toward a greener, healthier, and more conscious future. 🌍💚
