G.W. Kariyawasam Foundation G.W. KARIYAWASAM Foundation has been established in memory of Mr. Kariyawasam by his six children and his wife. Mr G.W.

He was the founding Registrar of Wayaba University and Proprietor of KARIES GROUP in Kuliyapitiya. Kariyawasam was a visionary and pioneer of Wayaba University, an astute university administrator, and a renowned businessman in Kuliyapitiya. His love for Buddhism and his passion for humanity and community development remained his mainstay. His family now wants to carry on his legacy by helping people who have been marginalized by society in Sri Lanka.

Dear THATHA,
Three years have gone by since you left us, but it still feels like it was just yesterday. The pain of losing you hasn’t lessened with time—it’s a constant reminder of the void you left behind. We always knew that one day we’d have to say goodbye, but we never could have imagined how much your absence would shatter our world. The house is quieter, our hearts heavier, and not a day passes without thinking of you. We miss you more than words can express, and life without you has been so much harder than we ever expected. You left a hole in our lives that can never be filled, and the ache of missing you is something we’ll carry with us forever.

May You Attain Supreme Bliss of Nirvana.
