IMPROVING ACCESS TO HEALTH SERVICES THROUGH PROVISION OF HEALTH FACILITIES at Majeed Nagar in Kinniya DSD, Trincomalee District in Trincomalee.

The community of Kiran in Majeed Nagar GND is collectively expressed their grievances and sufferings without having access to a health care clinic center in their own village. Majeed Nagar is a despairing village with resettlement process located 14 Km away from Kinniya town. The inhabitants of Majeed Nagar often face difficulties and barriers to sufficient access, necessary and appropriate healthcare services. There is no such healthcare center in active function which limits their ability to access and obtain the care and services they need. The population of the village is 1079 with 49% of females and their primary source incomes ensured from farming activities and daily wage laboring. Their health literacy is very poor, and the villagers likely have to travel long distance to travel town hospital while spending a whole day wage; meantime they do not have public transportation access to due to the worsen conditions of internal roads in the village.
