Humane Society - මානුෂීය සංගමය - University of Kelaniya Come and Join with us whom like to be real humans with and whom do like to appreciate the real humanity and whom do like to help animals and people

The Humane Society is a newly established student organization, registered under the University legislation. The primary goal of the society is to facilitate the students to participate in various activities to enhance their social skills and personality while upgrading the safety and the health of the stray animals within the university premises .Stray animals have become a nuisance

and a health hazard to the University community as they are vectors for rabies. These animals often suffering from hunger and illness seek food and shelter in human communities. This is not only an issue affecting the university but also the urban communities. Therefore, the humane society was established with the intention to organize
– animal identification
– vaccination
– spaying for population management
– medication
– community education
– training the animals as pets for adoption
Not only stray animals Humane society newly conducting programmes various charity works for all the humane being . Mainly helping for rural area children education and elder home cleaning and caring programmes and members are volunteer for helping poor people's needs .
