Occupational Health & Safety Workshop Recap

On the 27th of May, the ENCM Society, in collaboration with Brandix Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, successfully hosted its 3rd annual workshop on Occupational Health and Safety. Held in the Faculty Board Room, this session was led by Mr. Chalana Perera, the Assistant Manager of Occupational Health and Safety at Brandix Apparel Solutions (Pvt) Ltd. Wathupitiwala, who provided invaluable insights into career opportunities in OHS, the industry's growing demands, and the critical importance of maintaining safety standards at work. Participants were also educated on the proper handling of health and safety equipment.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants for their enthusiastic engagement and to Mr. Chalana Perera and Mrs. Manula Kavithanjali representing Brandix Apparel Solutions (Pvt) Ltd, Wathupitiwala for their continued support in making this event a success.

The Environmental Conservation and Management Society of the University of Kelaniya is proud to collaborate with Trischel Fabric (Pvt) Ltd in successfully introducing the Re-Pen Bin Project to our university community. ♻️🌱

This initiative marks an important step towards promoting sustainable waste management practices, environmental awareness, and responsible recycling within the university premises. Through the installation of Re-Pen Bins, we aim to encourage students and staff to actively participate in creating a cleaner and more environmentally conscious university.

With a shared love for our oceans and a commitment to protect them, the Environmental Conservation and Management Society joined hands with the Centre for Sustainability Solutions to carry out a beach cleanup on 3rd February 2026.
Nearly 1 km of the Kalutara shoreline was cleaned, turning care into action and responsibility into impact.

This meaningful initiative was made possible with the generous sponsorship of Varun Beverages (Pepsi – authorized distributors).
