MYSK (Muslim Youth Society of Katukelle) is a Charitable Organization established in 2009 by a group of young Muslim social workers of the Katukelle Mahalla. It is an independent, non-political organization which offers a wide range of pure humanitarian services. The MYSK was inaugurated with the sole purpose of uplifting the spiritual, educational, social and mutual development of the youth and t
o help the poor, the needy with the objective of the betterment of the Muslim society. To date the organization has been involved in numerous social welfare projects, which include the distribution of dry rations during Ramadan, to under privileged families while giving great priority to self-employment projects that aim at providing reasonable income to the needy communities. MYSK plays its role in providing employment opportunities to many so that they could be self-reliant and become self-sufficient. We are also at the forefront of organizing lecturers and workshops to educate Muslims and the wider public on the core value of Islam, where attending to urgent relief aids at natural disasters. A grass-roots organization, our mandate includes the development and delivery of innovative programs and services for youth who may be disadvantaged, marginalized, or at-risk. We create opportunities for youth to reach their full potential. Our goal is to improve the well-being and self-worth of alienated and excluded through unconditional support, whenever necessary, with the view of reconnecting them with the community. The MYSK has been able to complete many projects, with the help of Almighty Allah during the past three years of our existence and the achievements are far beyond our expectations, all praise be to Allah! We would like to thank all those who contributed to make our projects fruitful where the results achieved were beyond our expectations.
