Sri Dalada Maligawa (Sinhala: ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාව), also known as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, is a revered Buddhist temple located in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. Situated within the historic royal palace complex, it enshrines the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the Sacred Relic has played a significant role in Sri Lankan history and governance, as it is traditionally believed that the custodian of the Relic holds the right to rule the country. Kandy, the last capital of the Sinhalese kings, is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in part due to the cultural and religious significance of this sacred temple.
