𝗨𝗽, 𝘂𝗽, 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝘆!

At CAL pre-schools, our little learners spent a -and-learn week discovering the colourful world of kites! From colours, patterns and shapes to uncovering the science behind how kites fly, every activity sparked curiosity, and joy.

From designing and creating their very own kites to heading outdoors to fly them with , our pre-schoolers learned through doing, discovering and having fun .

At CAL, interactive and engaging learning goes beyond the classroom—building strong foundations, encouraging curiosity and nurturing lifelong learners who are equipped to soar towards thriving .

Sometimes, the greatest impact of volunteering is felt on both sides.

Recently, students and staff from Oxford Falls Grammar School stepped into the CAL community in Batticaloa — sharing their time, energy, skills and, most importantly, their hearts.

But volunteering is never a one-way journey.

The Child Rights Council (CRC) brings together children from diverse backgrounds, creating a platform where their voices are heard and where they can actively shape conversations and decisions that affect their lives.

This year, through the Play Together, Rise Together initiative, the UEFA Foundation for Children is supporting the CRC in a collaboration that reflects one of the Foundation’s core mandates: promoting sustainable solutions and advancing children’s rights within the communities it supports.

A safer, brighter and more functional kitchen is now ready at Child Action Lanka’s Kandy Child Development Centre, thanks to the generous support of the Rotary Club of Kandy Metropolitan. 💛

This renovated space will help us continue providing children with nutritious meals in a clean and welcoming environment — nourishing their bodies and supporting their growth and learning.

We are grateful to the Rotary Club of Kandy Metropolitan for helping us create spaces where children can thrive.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀.

The children of Child Action Lanka’s Colombo community had the exciting opportunity to meet and interact with 𝗩𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗪𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵𝗲, 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗿𝗶 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, during her recent visit to the Colombo Child Development Centre. 🇱🇰👑

As a passionate advocate for children, Vonara joined the children in engaging child rights awareness activities, encouraging them to understand their rights, speak up about their experiences, and recognise their own potential to create positive change in their lives and communities.

Her presence was a meaningful reminder that 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.

Child Action Lanka extends its 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝘅𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, who spent 10 days serving alongside our community with passion, commitment and generosity.

During their volunteer placement, the 𝗢𝗙𝗚 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗮 𝗖𝗗𝗖 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹. Through challenging weather conditions and demanding physical work, they remained steadfast in their mission, helping create a brighter, more nurturing learning environment where children can learn, grow and thrive.

Beyond their invaluable contribution to the pre-school, the OFG team embraced every opportunity to connect with the children and youth of the CAL community.𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲.

After hearing about the incredible lengths children in Batticaloa go to each day to access education and opportunities at our Child Development Centre, Rupert chose to take action. 𝗕𝘆 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬 𝗸𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 £𝟱𝟬𝟬, 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻, making their journey to the centre safer and easier.

Child Action Lanka extends its heartfelt gratitude to 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝘂𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗵 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, who recently dedicated their time and talents to serving at our Nuwara Eliya Child Development Centre.

Throughout their volunteer placement, the students worked tirelessly to support refurbishment efforts at the centre while also 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀. Their willingness to serve brought renewed spaces, joyful moments and lasting encouragement to the children and community we serve.
