The Inner Wheel Club of Katugastota started off the Inner Wheel year 2026/2027, with the very first service project—a donation of dry rations to Daya Niwasa as part of the monthly community service initiative.

Though a simple gesture, it was a meaningful way to support the residents and contribute to their daily needs. We look forward to another year of serving with kindness, friendship, and compassion, making a positive difference in the lives of others.

The Inner Wheel Club of Katugastota is honoured to continue its project of providing dry rations and essential items to Daya Niwasa, a home that lovingly cares for the differently-abled and those in need of shelter and support.
Through this initiative, our members come together to share kindness and ensure that the residents have access to daily necessities that contribute to their comfort and well-being. Each visit reminds us of the power of service, empathy, and the impact of small, consistent acts of generosity.

The Inner Wheel Club of Katugastota actively participated in a medical camp organized by the Rotary Club of Katugastota and the Centre for Handicapped.
This initiative aimed to provide accessible healthcare services to residents in and around the Kundasale area. The camp offered a range of services, including general medical check-ups, eye examinations (with reading glasses provided), blood sugar testing, and basic health screenings.
Qualified medical professionals and volunteers ensured efficient service delivery, while free medicines were distributed to all patients based on their needs. The event was meticulously planned, featuring community outreach, registration, and organized service stations to ensure a smooth flow and maximum participation. Approximately 200 individuals benefited from the camp, receiving timely medical attention and health advice. This project significantly enhanced community health awareness and well-being.

The Inner Wheel Club of Katugastota provided dry rations and vegetables as well as a helping hand to a community kitchen that rises in compassion for those struck by disaster in Kandy town. In a time when even water is scarce, this kitchen becomes a beacon of hope—serving warm, cooked meals to those who have lost so much, reminding them that they are not forgotten.
