Emergency Appeal for Flood & Landslide Relief in Sri Lanka

இலங்கையில் ஏற்பட்ட கடுமையான அடைமழையின் காரணமாக மலையகப்பகுதிகளிலும், பல மாவட்டங்களிலும் வெள்ளம் மற்றும் நிலச்சரிவு ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. இதனால் நாடு முழுவதும் மக்கள் பாரிய அனர்த்தத்திற்கு முகங்கொடுத்து, தற்போது மிகவும் மோசமான சூழ்நிலையில் உள்ளனர்.

பலர் தங்கள் வீடுகளை முழுமையாக இழந்துள்ளனர்.

In Sri Lanka, Children’s Day is celebrated on 01st October annually to increase public awareness about children's rights.

Many instances have been reported in the recent past when children have been subject to severe forms of physical and psychological abuse. Any child who suffers from starvation is trafficked, abused or in circumstances which do not permit them to live a carefree life is an instance when society has not performed its duty to protect the defenceless child and assist them.

Let us hope that this Children’s Day will raise greater awareness of the need for everyone to contribute towards the upliftment of our kids and the necessity of creating an environment where the younger generation can thrive and reach their true potential.

The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of the Child has stated that “mankind owes to the child the best it has to give”.

The time to alleviate the problems faced by kids worldwide is now. Never miss an opportunity to tell your child you love them.

According to the World Federation of the Deaf, there are approximately 72 million deaf people worldwide. More than 80% of them live in developing countries. Collectively, they use more than 300 different sign languages.

Sign languages are fully fledged natural languages, structurally distinct from spoken languages. There is also an international sign language, which is used by deaf people in international meetings and informally when travelling and socializing. It is considered a pidgin form of sign language that is not as complex as natural sign languages and has a limited lexicon.

International Day of Sign Languages is celebrated annually across the world on 23 September every year along with International Week of the Deaf.

The establishment of International Dogs Day aims to honor all dog breeds, both mixed and pure. The day encourages the general public to raise awareness of the enormous number of dogs who need to be rescued each year from purebred rescuers, rescues, and public shelters.
