The Kandy Muslim Traders Association (KMTA) is grateful to share a meaningful step taken to support those affected by the Ditwah Disaster.
With the generous support of Kandy’s business community and well-wishers, 20 self-employed entrepreneurs and small business owners from Kandy, Penideniya, Geliouya, Kalugamuwa, and Gampola received essential assistance to help them restart their livelihoods after the floods.
This initiative focuses on supporting self-employed individuals who lost their businesses, many of whom are responsible for supporting their families and employees. While this support cannot fully replace what they have lost, it is a sincere effort to help them rebuild and move forward.
This is only the beginning. KMTA hopes to raise more funds to support additional affected entrepreneurs, because when a small business recovers, an entire community benefits.
A heartfelt thank you to all traders, donors, and supporters who made this possible. We welcome others who wish to join and contribute to this meaningful initiative.
Together, we rise.
