Sinnappu Moothathamby Rasamanickam was a Ceylon Tamil politician and Member of Parliament. S M Rasamanickam was born on 20 January He was from Mandur in Eastern Ceylon, after his education Mr.Rasamanickam joined the government service as an Assistant Food Controller and also held the position of Additional Government Agent. S M Rasamanickam later entered politics in the early 50s and first entered

Parliament in 1952 representing the Paddirippu Electorate. S M Rasamanickam served the people of Paddirippu as a Parliamentarian up until 1970 rendering great service to the people of the region and later was elected as the leader of the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Katchi. S.M Rasamanickam Peoples Foundation was founded to develop the livelihood of Tamil people in the Batticaloa district. The Rasamanickam family have returned to the village after the war to continue their father’s legacy of empowering the Tamil people. S M Rasamanickam was passionate about helping people. His achievements in the memory of generations of Tamil who remember his peaceful principles and union of north and eastSri Lanka. The S M Rasamanickam Peoples Foundation is established by his son Keerthi Rasamanickam and his grandson Shanakiyan Rasamanickam. The foundation delivers projects promoting education, livelihood development, sports and health. Prinsly Seevaratnam contributes to the foundation’s strategy and James Forbes volunteers human centred design to meet the needs of the people served.

நேற்று முன் தினம் களுவாஞ்சிகுடி இளைஞர் முன்னேற்ற கழகம் YDSC தனது நாற்பத்தொராவது (41) வருட நிறைவை கொண்டாடியது இந்நிகழ்வுக்கான சைக்கிள் ஓட்ட போட்டிக்கான அனுசரனையை மறைந்த முன்னாள் பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினரான சி.மூ.இராசமாணிக்கம் ஐயா அவர்களின் நினைவாக சி.மூ.இராசமாணிக்கம் மக்கள் அமைப்பு இம்முறையும் அனுசரணை வழங்கி சிறப்பித்தது. அத்துடன் இவ் நிகழ்வின் பிரதம அதிதியாக பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினரும் எமது அமைப்பின் தவிசாளருமான இரா. சாணக்கியன் அவர்கள் கலந்து சிறப்பித்திருந்தார்.
