Our Story
PCA is a grassroots Sri Lankan NGO concerned with community empowerment. PCA conduct participatory community workshops and offer training to facilitate community lead development and empowerment. We work in the fields of human rights, and conflict sensitivity and transformation, to contribute to lasting peace in Sri Lanka. Our team of experienced and committed staff have developed a distinctive, evolving methodology based on non-violence philosophy and practice. Our approach is to look at ways of breaking circles of violence and overcoming conflict in communities through capacity building, coaching and training, networking and cultural exchange, empowerment and participation. Sri Lanka is a post conflict nation experiencing from an identity based crisis that is preventing citizens sharing a unified sense of humanity. Therefore PCA seek to provide crucial cultural exchanges that reveal a shared humanity in which subjects of identity, rights and democracy are promoted, valued and integrated.
