Save a Life Save a Life is a youth-led NGO working on Health and Environmental sectors in Sri Lanka. Vision
Towards a Healthy and Ecocentric Future.

Save a Life is a youth-led volunteer organization that was founded in 2014 with a primary focus on organizing blood donation camps and raising awareness about the importance of blood donation. Since 2016, Save a Life has expanded its scope to actively engage in the sectors of Environmental Management and Ecosystem Services and Health and Wellbeing of Lives.specific focus on the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. Our core focus areas include Youth Development, Gender Equality, Inclusive Education, and Lasting Peace. Mission
To connect and encourage the younger generation in caring for the thriving purpose and to provision the emerging needs for environmental management which could improve the ecosystem services and the quality of life, health and wellbeing of the future generation.

Our Palmyrah Planting Journey Continues in Araly!

Save a Life continued its palmyrah seed planting initiative with a second round of planting along Valukkai in Araly, as part of our RECAP Programme, together with the Palmyrah Working Group.

With every seed, we reaffirm our commitment to protecting our environment and preserving the palmyrah’s place in our culture, landscape and community livelihoods.

Thank you to everyone who joined hands for this second round. Our work will continue - let’s plant, nurture and protect for the next generation!

பனை - எங்கள் அடையாளம், எங்கள் மரபு, எங்கள் வளம்!

ஓலைச்சுவடிகள் முதல் கைவினைப் பொருட்கள் வரை, பனை எமது பண்பாட்டோடும் வாழ்வியலோடும் பின்னிப் பிணைந்துள்ளது. நுங்கு, பனம்பழம், பனங்கிழங்கு, பனங்கருப்பட்டி என உணவையும், பனைசார் தொழில்கள் மூலம் பல குடும்பங்களுக்கு வாழ்வாதாரத்தையும் வழங்குகிறது.

வறண்ட நிலங்களிலும் வளரும் பனை, மண்ணைப் பாதுகாப்பதிலும் உயிரினங்களுக்கு வாழிடம் வழங்குவதிலும் முக்கிய பங்காற்றுகிறது.

பனையின் பெறுமையைப் போற்றவும், அதன் பாதுகாப்பை ஊக்குவிக்கவும், Save a Life உலகப் பனை தினத்தை உருவாக்கி, ஆண்டுதோறும் ஜூன் 6 அன்று கொண்டாடுகிறது.

பனை விதைகளை நடுவோம்; வளரும் பனைகளைப் பராமரிப்போம்; பனைசார் பொருட்களையும் உள்ளூர் உற்பத்தியாளர்களையும் ஆதரிப்போம்! 💚

Protecting Mangroves, Protecting Our Future!

Sri Lanka’s mangroves help protect our coastlines, shelter marine life, store carbon and sustain fishing livelihoods.

At Save a Life, we are committed to restoring and protecting these precious ecosystems, including through our Mangrove Guardians Project in Araly, Jaffna. Together with young people and communities, we’re working towards healthier coastal habitats for future generations.

Restoration goes beyond planting—it requires ongoing care and protection of existing mangrove forests.
