Learning Life Skills Beyond the Classroom!

Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka, in partnership with Allpeoplebehappy, organized an exciting exposure visit for 234 Grade VI students and 46 teachers/parents from 11 schools in the Vadamaradchy and Thenmaradchy Education Zones.

Students explored important cultural, historical, and educational landmarks across Jaffna, including the University of Jaffna, Jaffna Fort, Jaffna Public Library, Nilavarai Well, Jaffna International Airport, and more. For many students, seeing an aircraft land for the very first time was an unforgettable experience!

The visit provided valuable opportunities to develop life skills, broaden horizons, and inspire students to dream bigger about their future.

Visions Global Empowerment successfully conducted a five-day (40-hour) Leadership Development Training Programme for government officials attached to the Ministry of Agriculture, as part of the Ministry’s Knowledge Sharing Programme initiative. A total of 34 staff members, including eight male officers, were trained on practicing active leadership in their public service roles.

In addition to strengthening core leadership competencies, participants engaged in immersive learning activities focused on enhancing communication and interpersonal skills.

Congratulations to all participants for their energy, dedication, and commitment to growing as transformative leaders. We look forward to continuing this inspiring journey together over the coming days!

Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka was delighted to host Dr.Meera Pathmarajah, Co-Founder, Visions Global Empowerment (Patron, Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka) in our intervention areas across schools and communities in Jaffna district on the 10th and 11th April 2025. On the second day, she had done a capacity building exercise with our staff on gender and equity.

She was introduced to our initiatives on life skills education, leadership development, social action plan and community development activities undertaken for children through school-based and community-based programme model.

We are grateful for this opportunity to showcase the impact of our work and to strengthen collaboration in empowering the next generation of leaders. In her feedback, she mentioned that she was thrilled to witness the positive change and impact created through Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka’s good work in the Northern Province.

Visions Global Empowerment organized a Life Skills Exhibition showcasing the creativity and talents of students from J/Katkovalam MMTM School. The exhibition featured inspiring creations developed during Life Skills Education sessions, highlighting students’ growth in creativity, confidence, and practical skills.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. N. Saththiyapalan, Director of the Zonal Education Office, and presided over by Mr. Jeyamohan, the Principal of the school. The exhibition was attended by officials from the Zonal Education Office, Vadamaradchy North Divisional Secretariat, and students from neighboring schools. Dr.Meera Pathmarajah, Founder, Visions Global Empowerment has visited the exhibits and extender her heartfelt appreciations to the students.

We are proud to share a meaningful milestone in our journey of empowering education and preserving knowledge that supports our mission to unleash the potential of youth in Sri Lanka.

With the generous sponsorship of Mr. Harichandran, Visions Global Empowerment supported Noolaham Foundation to provide incentives to 12 graduating interns from the Department of Saiva Siddhantha, University of Jaffna.

These dedicated students have made a remarkable impact by supporting the digitalization of valuable school resources and helping to disseminate the mission of Noolaham Foundation, particularly its Pallikoodam resource materials across more than 40 schools. Their efforts are strengthening access to knowledge and enriching learning experiences for countless students.

Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka has successfully trained 37 school prefects from 15 schools in Vadamaradchy on a five-day intensive zonal-level leadership training program held from 16th to 21st March 2026 at Zonal Education Office, Vadamaradchy.
Throughout the training, prefects strengthened their skills in leadership, team building, communication, self-awareness, problem-solving, decision-making, and social action planning. Each participant developed a personal self-development plan to guide their growth as young leaders.
To further encourage practical leadership, students from three schools were selected for the award of a grant of Rs.15,000 each from Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka to design and implement a Social Action Plan, to deliver a change in their respective schools.

Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka has successfully trained 41 model leaders from grades 6-9 in the Thenmaradchy Zone on a five-day intensive zonal-level leadership training program held from 24th to 28th February.

The participating students represented J/Navatkuly MV, J/Dreiberg College, J/Kachchai MV, J/Varany Central College and J/Chavakacheri Hindu College. Throughout the training, prefects strengthened their skills in leadership, team building, communication, self-awareness, problem-solving, decision-making, and social action planning. Each participant developed a personal self-development plan to guide their growth as young leaders.

To further encourage practical leadership, students from each school will receive a grant of Rs. 15,000 from Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka to design and implement a Social Action Plan within their respective schools.

Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka is proud to share that 40 school prefects from the Valikamam Zone successfully completed a five-day intensive zonal level leadership training program held from 17th to 21st February.

The participating students represented J/Keerimalai Naguleswara MV, J/Myliddy North Kalaimahal MV, J/Piranpattru Kalaimahal Vidyalayam, J/Ilavalai Meikandan MV and J/Mathagal St.Joseph MV. On Day 2 of the training, Dr. Rajina and Dr. Ranadiv from the USA delivered inspiring and motivational speeches, encouraging students to reflect on their future careers and set meaningful goals.

Throughout the training, prefects strengthened their skills in leadership, team building, communication, self-awareness, problem-solving, decision-making, and social action planning. Each participant developed a personal self-development plan to guide their growth as young leaders.

To further encourage practical leadership, students from each school will receive a grant of Rs. 15,000 from Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka to design and implement a Social Action Plan within their respective schools, putting their newly gained skills into meaningful action.
