Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka ("Visions Sri Lanka") is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting adolescents and young adults in Sri Lanka through education, leadership, technology, and community development.

They learnt. They led. They acted.

On Children’s Day – 1 October 2026, eight student leaders from Mathagal St. Joseph Maha Vidyalayam launched their three-month Social Action Plan, developed through Visions Global Empowerment’s five-day Leadership Training Programme.

Through Visions Global Empowerment’s five-day Leadership Training Programme, they learned to identify challenges, think creatively and lead with purpose. Their next step? Making a difference in their own school.

As part of their Social Action Plan, they have painted inspirational messages across the school, creating an environment that encourages students to think positively, believe in themselves and make positive choices.

This is what youth leadership looks like: learning with purpose, taking initiative and creating change that others can see and feel.

42 YOUNG LEADERS, 5 SCHOOLS and 5 DAYS.

Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Zonal Education Office, Valikamam, successfully conducted a five-day Zonal-Level Leadership Training Workshop from 31 August to 4 September 2026, bringing together 42 school prefects from five schools.

Through interactive sessions, the young leaders strengthened their skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, self-awareness, problem-solving, decision-making, and social action planning.

The participants will practice their leadership skills with the implementation of Social Action Plans to address challenges in their respective schools.

Visions Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Zonal Education Office, Thenmaradchy, successfully conducted a five-day zonal-level leadership training workshop from 18th to 22nd August 2026, bringing together 43 school prefects from five schools in Thenmaradchy.

Through interactive and participatory sessions, the young leaders developed essential skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, self-awareness, problem-solving, decision-making, and social action planning.

The learning will now move from training to action. The participants will develop Social Action Plans to address issues affecting their schools, with each selected initiative receiving a Rs. 15,000 grant from Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka to turn their ideas into meaningful action.

Empowering Young Leaders to Create Change!

Visions Sri Lanka in collaboration with Zonal Education Office, Vadamaradchy successfully trained 37 model leaders from Grades 6–9, including 11 girls, from six schools in Vadamaradchy through a five-day zonal-level leadership training workshop held from 10-14 August 2026 at the Zonal Education Office, Vadamaradchy.

In this participatory leadership workshop, the young leaders strengthened their skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, self-awareness, problem-solving, decision-making, and social action planning.

As a next step, participants will develop Social Action Plans to address issues in their schools. Each selected initiative will receive a Rs. 15,000 grant from Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka to turn their ideas into action.

Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka is pleased to have partnered with the Governor's Office, Northern Province to conduct a Leadership for Professional Development Training for its staff.

46 staff including 16 female staff were exposed to strengthening self-awareness, leadership, teamwork and communication skills through participatory leadership training programme.

This marks the beginning of a series of capacity-building sessions aimed at enhancing leadership and workplace effectiveness within the public sector. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the professional growth of government officials and look forward to continuing this inspiring learning journey together.

Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka in partnership with Allpeoplebehappy successfully conducted a two-day intensive zonal-level leadership training programme for 35 school prefects representing 11 schools in the Vadamaradchy East. The programme was held at the Cultural Centre, Maruthankerny. AllPeopleBeHappy's Volunteer Shannon Mishcler from the USA co-facilitated the workshop.

Through a series of interactive and experiential learning activities, the prefects enhanced their knowledge, awareness, and skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, self-awareness, problem-solving, decision-making, and social action planning.

Congratulations to all participants for their enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment to becoming transformative leaders. We look forward to continuing this inspiring journey together in the days ahead!

Learning Life Skills Beyond the Classroom!

Visions Global Empowerment Sri Lanka, in partnership with Allpeoplebehappy, organized an exciting exposure visit for 234 Grade VI students and 46 teachers/parents from 11 schools in the Vadamaradchy and Thenmaradchy Education Zones.

Students explored important cultural, historical, and educational landmarks across Jaffna, including the University of Jaffna, Jaffna Fort, Jaffna Public Library, Nilavarai Well, Jaffna International Airport, and more. For many students, seeing an aircraft land for the very first time was an unforgettable experience!

The visit provided valuable opportunities to develop life skills, broaden horizons, and inspire students to dream bigger about their future.

Visions Global Empowerment successfully conducted a five-day (40-hour) Leadership Development Training Programme for government officials attached to the Ministry of Agriculture, as part of the Ministry’s Knowledge Sharing Programme initiative. A total of 34 staff members, including eight male officers, were trained on practicing active leadership in their public service roles.

In addition to strengthening core leadership competencies, participants engaged in immersive learning activities focused on enhancing communication and interpersonal skills.

Congratulations to all participants for their energy, dedication, and commitment to growing as transformative leaders. We look forward to continuing this inspiring journey together over the coming days!
