Date: The peak of the Lyrids meteor shower in 2024 is expected to occur on the night of April 22nd and the early morning of April 23rd.

Origin: The Lyrids meteor shower is caused by debris from the comet C/1861 G1 Thatcher, which orbits the sun once every 415 years.

Visibility: The Lyrids are known for producing bright and fast meteors, making them a favorite among skywatchers. With little to no interference from the moon during its peak, the 2024 Lyrids meteor shower promises excellent viewing conditions.

Location: The Lyrids appear to radiate from the constellation Lyra, hence their name. To observe the shower, find a dark, open area away from city lights, and look towards the northeastern sky.

Duration: While the peak occurs on the night of April 22nd, the Lyrids meteor shower typically runs from April 16th to April 25th, so there's ample opportunity to catch a glimpse of shooting stars throughout this period.

Remember to dress warmly, bring a blanket or chair for comfort, and be patient as you wait for nature's light show to begin! ✨🌠
