The Centre for Women & Development (CWD) celebrated International Women’s Day on 8 March at the Jaffna Public Library Auditorium. The event brought together remarkable women from diverse sectors to share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives with the audience.

The program featured a special address by the Chief Guest, Dr. Nimalka Fernando, Director of the Women’s Political Academy. The gathering was further enriched by insightful presentations from Dr. Logeswary Sooriyakumaran, Lecturer in Business and Management Studies at Eastern University, Batticaloa; Dr. Jeyaluxmy Uthayakumar, Former Lecturer at the College of Education, Kopay; Dr. Bhageerathy Rasanen, Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of Jaffna; and Dr. T. Kanagaraj, Regional Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission, Jaffna.

The event commenced with a Welcome Address by Ms. Saroja Sivachandran, Executive Director of the Centre for Women & Development.
