On December 12, 2023 As the curtains closed on , we announced the birth of an idea.
“Let’s nurture a generation of environmentally and socially responsible individuals, for they hold the key to a sustainable and harmonious future.”
That day, Climate Warriors Foundation was nothing more than a vision carried by seven people who aspired to become changemakers.
Today, after almost three years of persistence, countless discussions, revisions, meetings, clearances, challenges, and patience, that vision has taken another major step forward.
Climate Warriors Foundation is now officially recognized as a Non-Governmental Organization in Sri Lanka.
Today, we received our official recognition from Mr. Dikpitiya Vithanage Chandrarathna, Registrar of Non-Governmental Organizations, Ministry of Social Security, National Secretariat for Non-Governmental Organizations.
It represents the days spent building our organization, defining our objectives, developing core governance, achieving project goals, and continuing forward even when the finish line seemed to be getting further away.
It represents every person who stood with us. A special thank you goes to our Management Committee and Working Committee members who stayed committed throughout this journey. Your time, ideas, patience, trust, and hard work helped turn Climate Warriors Foundation from an idea into an institution.
We believe Sri Lanka deserves a generation that understands climate change, protects our environment, embraces sustainable development, uses technology for good, and is willing to take responsibility for the future.
Here’s to the future we are going to build here in Sri Lanka, for Sri Lanka.
