Somawathi Niwasa A Children's Home for over 100 orphaned and abandoned children. Somawathi Home is sponsored by Stichting Weeshuis Sri Lanka in the Netherlands.

Somawathi Home is an orphanage for approx. 100 children (boys and girls) in the age from 3 until 18 years. The children are selected by the Sri Lankan Probation Department and live in Somawathi under full guardianship. Children are provided with love and care, extra education incl. vocational training. The premisses has a pre-school for 45 toddlers including children of the neighborhood. In the Me

dical Post the GP, the pharmacist, the MLT and the dentist are taking care of the well being of the children, the staff and 1.500 people in the neighborhood.
