ගම්පහ සිංහ සමාජයේ ගරු සිංහ දුමින්ද අමරසිංහ මහතාගේ උතුම් ධන පරිත්‍යාගයෙන්, වැලිවේරිය රතුපස්වල ප්‍රදේශයේ ආධාර අවශ්‍ය පවුලක් සඳහා අංග සම්පූර්ණ නිවසක් ඉදිකර, අද දිනයේදී එය පරිත්‍යාග කෙරිණි.

මෙම අවස්ථාව වෙනුවෙන් පැවැත්වූ විවෘත කිරීමේ උත්සවයට අපගේ සිංහාධිපති තැන්පත්, ගරු සිංහ ඉංජිනේරු විරාජ් වික්‍රමසිංහ මහතා සහ එතුමාගේ ගරු මැතිණියගේ සහභාගිත්වය අපේක්ෂා කරනු ලැබූවද, හදිසි දිස්ත්‍රික් කටයුත්තක් හේතුවෙන් පැමිණීමට නොහැකි විය.

Heartiest Congratulations!

Another successful business session and election have concluded at the 19th Annual District Convention of Lions International District 306 B2. I extend my gratitude to District Governor Lion Anuka K Dissanayake and his dedicated team for their excellent organization of every aspect of the day.

Specifically, Lion Chaminda Viraj, serving as the GST Coordinator, rendered his invaluable services, operating closely alongside the District Governor as crucial support throughout his tenure.

I offer my heartiest congratulations to Lion Shashi Kumar, who stepped forward in this election after his defeat in last year's 2nd Vice District Governor election. I also wish Lion Janaka Kolonnage, who was unsuccessful in that contest, the best of luck in potentially being re-elected as the 2nd Vice District Governor of District 306 B2 in the future.

Furthermore, I extend my heartiest congratulations to Lion Rukman S Bandaranayake for your victory as 2nd Vice District Governor of District 306 B2. I congratulate Lion Gerald Krishanthan for your remarkable achievement of securing over 100 votes in a short campaign period.

Both "JKs" are essential leaders for our Lions District 306 B2. Lion Janaka Kolonne, with his extensive experience in government, the private sector, and nearly 35 years in Lionism, is exceptionally well-prepared. Lion Gerald Krishanthan, supported by the top-performing Lions Club of Colombo Plaza, has demonstrated the necessary strength and support to be our district leader.

I encourage both candidates who were not victorious to consider running again in the future for Vice District Governor, especially after the anticipated subdivision of our District 306, which will create more opportunities.

I take this opportunity to congratulate our forthcoming leader, Lion Eng Viraj Wickramasinghe (Elect), for a successful 2024/25 Lionistic year. Additionally, all of us Lions should be pleased that two of the most talented and highly qualified personalities, Lion Diluka Mahawatte and Lion Dinesh Thayagaraja, have been appointed as your indispensable left and right hands to ensure your year as the Lion is very successful.

I also personally thank you for electing me as a principal Cabinet Officer. Due to my current commitments, I must respectfully decline this responsible post. Nevertheless, I remain committed to working towards the betterment of our District 306 B2 within our multiple and Lions International.
