Skin Sri Lanka envisions in Sri Lanka in which people living with dermatological diseases and skin traumas have easy access to the care and treatment they require, when they need it, and are not stigmatized, persecuted, or faced with economic disadvantages as a result of their conditions.

World Psoriasis Day — 29 October 2026

Recognize psoriasis as a noncommunicable disease in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Health highlights four major groups of noncommunicable diseases: cardiovascular diseases, cancers, chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes.

Psoriasis is also a chronic noncommunicable disease, yet its impact on physical and mental health, quality of life and social inclusion can be overlooked.

On World Psoriasis Day, 29 October 2026, we call for psoriasis to be explicitly recognized in Sri Lanka’s national NCD policies and programmes, with improved public awareness, timely diagnosis, access to appropriate care and support for people living with the condition.
