UNCOVER Photography Exhibition: Giving voice to the untold stories of communities affected by injustice through visual storytelling and dialogue.
The exhibition organised by the ACT NOW Campaign of ADT & NCEASL, took place from 16–20 July 2026 at the JDA Perera Gallery, Colombo.
The opening on the 16th featured a keynote address by Dr. Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu, Founder & Executive Director of the Centre for Policy Alternatives (CPA), followed by a panel discussion titled “Can Sri Lanka’s Future Be Built on Unanswered Grief & Unresolved Injustice?” The discussion explored the impact of unresolved human rights violations & the importance of truth, justice, & accountability in building lasting peace and reconciliation.
On the 17th, a discussion titled “Opportunities & Challenges in Securing Land, Housing, & Other Human Rights of the Malaiyaha Tamil Community” explored systemic barriers affecting the community & pathways towards inclusive, rights-based solutions.
The exhibition concluded with a panel discussion on “Black July: The Unfinished Past,” reflecting on the lasting legacy of the 1983 anti-Tamil pogrom & the importance of addressing historical injustices as part of a genuine process of reconciliation.
The exhibition was also honoured by visits from Hon. Sundaralingam Pradeep, Deputy Minister of Plantation & Community Infrastructure, the opposition leader Hon. Sajith Premadasa & Dr. Harsha de Silva.
