Dehiwela Ahadiyya School,a not-for-profit school was inaugurated in 1992 with the aim of providing quality FREE Islamic education to Muslims in Sri Lanka.

In the-early nineties there was a solitary Muslim school in Dehiwela (a suburb town of the capital city Colombo) conducting classes in Tamil language in one big hall to only Muslim boys. Since accommodation and other facilities were limited, the Muslim parents were compelled to admit their sons and daughters to the Christian and Buddhist schools in the area. Since there was no provision to impart

Islam Knowledge, the Muslim Children had no choice but follow the Christian and Buddhist lessons in their formative years of life and were ignorant on the Islamic matters. With the Muslim population growing rapidly in Dehiwela, the need for an institution dedicated to imparting Islamic knowledge was imperative. Dehiwela Ahadiyya School was inaugurated in November 1992 to fill the above vacuum as non-profit school affiliated to the Central Ahadiyya Federation. One hundred and seventy five (175) students enrolled on the day of the inauguration. The school conducts classes every Sunday mornings and follows the Sri Lankan Ministry of Education Islam syllabus in addition to the Central Ahadiyya Federation Islam syllabus. Classes are conducted in 2 sessions, 8.30am to 10.30am and 10.30am to 12.30pm. The language of instruction is Sinhala, English and Tamil. The Ahadiyya teaches Quran to students in addition to the teaching of Islam. The school is financed mainly by contributions from patrons. The teaching staffs are volunteers and receive a basic allowance for transportation only.

With the deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Dehiwela Ahadiyya School Founder and President
Al Haj Mohammed Mufallal Junaid.

He was a dedicated community leader, serving as the Former Trustee of Muhayideen Dehiwela Jumma Mosque, Founder of Dehiwela Ahadiyya Sunday School, President of the Dehiwala Welfare Association, and Treasurer of Islamic Home for Needy and Orphan Children (Ratmalana). He was also a Justice of the Peace (All Island).

May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, elevate his ranks in Jannatul Firdaus, and grant patience and strength to his loved ones. Aameen!

‎إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعون‎
‎Inna lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'oon “We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return”.

‎It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Al Haj Mohamed Zubair Sultanbawa. He returned to his Creator peacefully at his residence on Friday, 18th October 2024.

Al Haj Sultanbawa was not only the co-founder of the Dehiwala Ahadiyya, but also a guiding light for all those who knew him. His dedication to the education of our children, the nurturing of Islamic values, and his unwavering commitment to our Ahadiyya will never be forgotten. His character inspired many, and his kindness touched the lives of countless individuals.

We pray that Allah (SWT) grants him the highest place in Jannah, forgives his shortcomings, and expands his grave with Noor. May Allah (SWT) grant patience and strength to his family in this difficult time.

“Oh Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, pardon him, and grant him an honorable place in Jannah. Expand his grave, cleanse him with water, snow, and ice, and purify him from sins as a white garment is purified of dirt. Replace his home with a better one and his family with a better family. Admit him to Paradise and protect him from the torment of the grave and the Fire.”

Janaza will leave residence 3/1A Pinwatte Road, Dehiwela In Sha Allah at 5.00 am to Dehiwela Muslim Burial Grounds on Saturday 19 October 2024.

Janaza prayers will be held after Fajr prayers at 5.45 am

Dear Applicant of Islamic Dheeniyath *(Islamic Dharmacharya)* Certificate Examination 2024

This to inform that in order to Apply For the Islamic Dharmacharya Examination, the applicant can apply through the Dehiwela Ahadiyya School, if the applicant is eligible with the required qualification mentioned by Department of the Examination.

(1) Qualifications Required
Applicant should have at least one of the following in order to Apply For the Examination

1.1) Should have passed the Ahadhiyya Daham Pasal Final Certificate Examination conducted by Department of Examination, Sri Lanka.
OR
1.2) Should have Moulavi Certificate issued by an Arabic College registered under the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs.
OR
1.3) Should have passed Islam or Islam Civilization Subject in GCE A/L Examination conducted by Department of Examination, Sri Lanka.
OR
1.4) At least One Year Teaching Experience in Ahadiyya Daham Pasal or Arabic College with a Credit pass in Islam Subject in GCE O/L Examination conducted by Department of Examination, Sri Lanka.

(2) Documents required for the Application

2.1) Copy of NIC *or* Copy of Valid Passport *or* Copy Valid Driving Licence.
2.2) Copy of one of the above mentioned qualification. (Proof of qualification)
2.3) Examination Fee of Rs. 200/=
2.4) Copy of GCE O/L Certificate Examination Results Sheet (If the Applicant has done the Exam)
2.5) Copy of GCE A/L Certificate Examination Results Sheet (If the Applicant has done the Exam)

(3) Application Details
If the Applicant is eligible with the required qualification mentioned above, then the Applicant should be bring all the documents mentioned in Section 2 to following location at the appropriate time schedule.

Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh!!!

Milad-un-Nabi marks the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) .It is considered an important day for all Muslims as it is a reminder of the kindness, compassion and teachings of the Holy Prophet (SAW).
The teaching of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) proves to be valuable to the community.
This day is observed on the 12th day of Rabi-ul Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar.
In commemoration of this precious day the Dehiwela Ahadiyya School organized a Meelad Un Nabi special programme to bring out the significant of this day .

The program began by briefing about our beloved Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) nobility and life story by one of our staff members.
Which was then followed by a Qaseeda , a speech and a quiz session.
Student Roshan Fathima Numah from Grade 6 (Sinhala Medium )volunteered to give a speech about our beloved Prophet (SAW) .
