අද දිනට යෙදෙන ලෝක ආදිවාසී දිනයට සමගාමීව, පරිසර යුක්ති කේන්ද්‍රයේ සභාපති හා විධායක අධ්‍යක්ෂක ඇතුළු නිලධාරී පිරිස, ආදිවාසී නායක, ඌරුවරිගයේ වන්නිල ඇත්තෝ ඊයේ දිනයේදී හමුවිය. මීට අමතරව ආදිවාසී ගම් ප්‍රදේශවූ දඹාන, පොල්ලෙබැද්ද, රතුගල, දළුපාන, හෙන්නාණිගල සහ වකරේ මුහුදු වැදි ප්‍රජාවේ නායක ඇත්තන් සහ එම ප්‍රජාවේ සාමජිකයන් සමඟ ඔවුන් මුහුණදෙන ගැටළු පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කරන ලදී.

අද අගෝස්තු 09 වෙනිදාට යෙදෙන ලෝක ආදිවාසී දිනයේදී, ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ අභිමානවත් නියම උරුමකරුවන් වන අපේ වැදි ජනතාව පිළිබඳව විශේෂ අවධානයක් යොමු කළ යුතුව ඇත.

වසර දහස් ගණනක අතීතයකට හිමිකම් කියන අපේ වැදි ප්‍රජාව, සොබාදහම සමඟ අත්වැල් බැඳගත් අතිශය පරිසර හිතකාමී ජීවන රටාවකට හිමිකම් කියයි. එහෙත් නූතන සංවර්ධන ව්‍යාපෘති, වනාන්තර එළිපෙහෙළි කිරීම් සහ වාසස්ථාන අහිමිවීම් හමුවේ ඔවුන්ගේ සම්ප්‍රදායික ජීවන රටාව මෙන්ම සංස්කෘතික අනන්‍යතාවද අද වන විට මහත් තර්ජනයකට ලක්ව ඇත.
පරිසර සංරක්ෂණ තීරණ ගැනීමේදී ආදිවාසී නායකයින්ගේ සහ ප්‍රජාවගේ අදහස් සක්‍රීයව ලබාගන්න.

ආදිවාසී ජනතාවගේ අයිතිවාසිකම් රැකදීම යනු ඔවුන්ගේ සංස්කෘතිය පමණක් නොව, අපේ රටේ වනාන්තර සහ ජෛව විවිධත්වයද රැකගැනීමට කටයුතු කිරීමෙන් සහ ආදිවාසි අදහස් වලට ගරු කළ යුතු බව ආදිවාසී දිනයේ දී පරිසර යුක්ති කේන්ද්‍රය පෙන්වා දෙයි.

🌿 Empowering Communities Through Environmental Knowledge 🌿

Throwing it back to a powerful day of learning and grassroots action! 📸✨

The Centre for Environmental Justice (CEJ) conducted an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Awareness Programme for the dedicated community leaders in Pemaduwa, Mahawilachchiya.

Here is a glimpse of what made the day so impactful:

📘 Understanding the EIA Process: Participants deepened their knowledge of how EIAs safeguard our natural environment and drive sustainable development.

🗣️ Actionable Guidance: Leaders received practical tools on how to effectively review EIA reports and submit community comments during public consultation phases.

🤝 Government Collaboration: We were honored to have an Environmental Officer from the Mahawilachchiya Divisional Secretariat share key insights on local environmental management, regulatory procedures, and civic duty.
