WHO Representative to Sri Lanka, Dr Rajesh Pandav, delivered the keynote address at the Annual Academic Congress 2026 of the Sri Lanka College of Emergency Physicians, highlighting the importance of integrated emergency, critical and operative care as a foundation for Universal Health Coverage and health security.

Sri Lanka has a strong foundation in emergency care, and continued collaboration will be key to strengthening quality, workforce capacity, coordination, and preparedness across the patient journey. WHO remains committed to supporting national efforts to build resilient, people-centred emergency care systems that save lives and leave no one behind.
