The Programme of Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Resilience of the National Christian Council of Sri Lanka successfully conducted a 3-day Residential Inter-Religious Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Training Programme from 22nd to 24th May 2026 at CTC, Anuradhapura.

The training brought together religious leaders and community representatives from diverse faith backgrounds to enhance their knowledge, skills, and cooperation in disaster preparedness, response, and climate resilience. Through learning, dialogue, and shared experiences, participants explored the vital role faith communities can play in building safer and more resilient societies.

🌱 Reducing Today, Protecting Tomorrow! 🌍

The Vanni RDMC team successfully conducted a Polythene Reduction Awareness Campaign at Kilinochchi Market, taking a bold step toward a cleaner environment. 💚

Our dedicated volunteers positioned themselves at all three market entrances, engaging with the public by collecting polythene bags and replacing them with eco-friendly reusable alternatives. ♻️ Through direct interaction, we raised awareness on the daily impact of plastic use and encouraged sustainable habits.

All collected polythene bags were responsibly sent for recycling, ensuring they do not harm our environment. 🌿

Together, small actions can create big change—let’s say NO to polythene and YES to a greener future! ✨
