The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) had a Strategic Meeting with a high-level Delegation from the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pakistan (KCCI) led by Mr. Muhammad Raza, Senior Vice President KCCI, and Mr. Imran Moiz Khan, Vice President KCCI. The KCCI - Pakistan Delegation included 13 business leaders representing different sectors. The Meeting was held on 6 May 2026 at the FCCISL Secretariat, Sri Lanka.

FCCISL / Associate Director SAARC CCI, took part in the Meeting.

The Meeting focused on strategic and policy interventions to strengthen the FTA between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, to enhance bilateral trade, investments and tourism between the two countries. The potential projects, which can be jointly organized by FCCISL and KCCI, have been discussed. Strengthening regional economic cooperation and intra-regional trade among SAARC member states has also been deliberated during the Meeting.

The SAARC CCI Presidency Handover-Takeover Ceremony was successfully held on 18 April 2026 at the SAARC CCI Headquarters in Islamabad, Pakistan.

FCCISL extends warmest felicitations and heartiest congratulations on Mr. Chandi Rak Dakal's (Nepal) official appointment as the President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SAARC CCI) for the term 2026–2028.

FCCISL further conveys heartfelt gratitude and profound appreciation to Md. Jashim Uddin (Bangladesh) for successfully completing a greatly impactful tenure of SAARC CCI Presidency 2023-2025.

SAARC CCI is an effective platform for regional economic cooperation, business diplomacy, digital innovation, trade and investment, and the empowerment of SMEs throughout the SAARC region - Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Apex Business Chamber of the South Asian region, officially inaugurated its New Building of the Permanent Headquarters in Islamabad, Pakistan, on 18 April 2026.

Government representatives, diplomates, national chamber leaders, and business leaders from South Asian nations took part in this historical event. The SAARC CCI Permanent Headquarters is a thriving hub for business diplomacy, digital innovation, and the empowerment of SMEs throughout the SAARC region - Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL), being a Founding Member of SAARC CCI, took part in the event representing Sri Lanka.

The 2nd Sri Lanka Franchise Expo was successfully organized by the Indian Small Business & Franchise Association (ISFA), Franchise India Group & Global Franchise Forum in collaboration with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL), Indo Lanka Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Ceylon National Chamber of Industries, Association of Small & Medium Enterprises in Tourism, and the Chamber of Young Lankan Entrepreneurs, held on 14 February 2026 at Marino Beach Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The 2nd Sri Lanka Franchise Expo focused on strengthening business linkages, joint ventures, trade, tourism and investment among Sri Lanka, India, Asian and European countries.

An Official Delegation from the Department of Commerce (DOC), Yunnan Province, China, led by Ms. Cun Min, Deputy Director-General, DOC Yunnan, had a productive Meeting with FCCISL President Mr. Keerthi Gunwardane, and FCCISL Secretary-General (Actg.) Mr. Tilan M Wijesooriya, today, 05 February 2026, at the FCCISL Secretariat, Sri Lanka. The Meeting focused on strengthening bilateral trade relations and investment cooperation between China (Yunnan) and Sri Lanka.

FCCISL had a productive Meeting with the High Commissioner of New Zealand to Sri Lanka, His Excellency David Pine, at his Residence in Colombo, Sri Lanka, today - 30 January 2026. Mr. Ruwan De Silva, Chairman PR Committee of FCCISL; Mr. Jagath Mullevithana, Director FCCISL; and Mr. Tilan M Wijesooriya, Secretary-General (Actg.) FCCISL, took part in the Meeting representing the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL). The Meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Sri Lanka and New Zealand in terms of trade, investments, agriculture, technology, tourism, education, health and culture.

The Meeting was held today, 08 January 2026, at FCCISL, Sri Lanka, focusing on projects and events which can be jointly organized to strengthen trade, investment and tourism cooperation between Hong Kong, China, and Sri Lanka.
