The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) had a Strategic Meeting with a high-level Delegation from the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pakistan (KCCI) led by Mr. Muhammad Raza, Senior Vice President KCCI, and Mr. Imran Moiz Khan, Vice President KCCI. The KCCI - Pakistan Delegation included 13 business leaders representing different sectors. The Meeting was held on 6 May 2026 at the FCCISL Secretariat, Sri Lanka.
Dr. Rohitha Silva, Vice President FCCISL / Vice President SAARC CCI; Mrs. Shirley Jayawardane, Immediate Past President FCCISL / EC Member SAARC CCI; Mr. Abbas Kamrudeen, Director FCCISL / Vice Chairman SAARC Young Entrepreneurs Forum; Mr. Dhammika Lokuge, Director FCCISL / GA SAARC CCI; Mr. Tilan M Wijesooriya, Secretary-General (Actg.) FCCISL / Associate Director SAARC CCI, took part in the Meeting.
The Meeting focused on strategic and policy interventions to strengthen the FTA between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, to enhance bilateral trade, investments and tourism between the two countries. The potential projects, which can be jointly organized by FCCISL and KCCI, have been discussed. Strengthening regional economic cooperation and intra-regional trade among SAARC member states has also been deliberated during the Meeting.
